Yesterday I did a post on the color-blocking trend with shoes and today I will continue with this same trend. One of my favorite retailers, Zara, has AMAZING pieces for color-blocking in their April look book. Zara’s take on color is similar to the color blocking trend seen with Gucci.

There is an art to color blocking and it is simply to find the complimentary colors. Check out more photos from Zara’s April lookbook

I am a sucker for snakeskin. Love how the orange makes the pants pop

The cobalt blue makes the other colors in the skirt pop. The top was a perfect color because there is only one strip of blue. A yellow top would have been overwhelming. The blue makes a statement in a subdued way.

I am not crazy about mixing prints. Very few people can do this successfully. However I LOVE the pants and the jacket. The motorcycle jacket gives this look some edge, while the pants are very bohemian. Great contrast.

I actually have a similar look in one of my look books from Aldo. Yellow looks great on almost anyone. I can see myself in this semi-monochromatic look.

She reminds me of a cantaloupe and the bag is like the outside of a watermelon. This look is great for spring and summer.

Last but not least, the fuschia blazer pulls this look together. I would have gone with a different top, maybe yellow to compliment the gold buttons, but the buttons and stripes are very distracting. None the less this is still a great look.
