Fashion| Look for Less G by Giuliana Wrap Skort

2015-04-11

Recently I was on the phone with my mother and she told me to turn to HSN because she saw a skort that she thought I would like. She said, "These are cute! I wouldn't pay $60 for them but you might." So I turned to channel 151 and saw that it was Giuliana Rancic's line for HSN. I thought the skort was really cute and I was particularly fond of the white pair, but I know some people probably wouldn't want to spend $60 for them. So I did what I do best and found the skort for more than 50% off. My mom said, "How did you do that so fast?" and I simply replied, "I got skills." lol. The skorts are very similar, and I'm sure the quality of G by Giuliana will be better, but if you need a cute look for brunch or an all white party, then the Charlotte Russe skort would work for you as well. G by Giuliana Wrap Skort $60 (Comes in black, white, and mineral green) Charlotte Russe Envelope Wrap … [Read More...]

Travel| 10 Things About My Trip to Abu Dhabi and Dubai

I returned last week from my trip to the UAE and wanted to find a way to tell you all about my travels without writing long and drawn out paragraphs. What better way to get to the gist of my trip then to do a list! This way I can narrow down what is most important and not give you all unnecessary details. Logistics( Travel/Weather/Currency) 1. Etihad Airways provides great customer service- Traveling to the UAE we had an 11 hour flight. Coming back to the states it was 14 hours. On both flights we were given a pillow, blanket, flying pouch with socks (your feet swell when in the air for a long period of time), ear plugs, headphones, eye mask, toothbrush and tooth paste. We were served two meals, one sandwich, and plenty of drinks, including alcohol. If your flight is not full, you can move around and find a space comfortable for you. I do however suggest you bring your own snacks and … [Read More...]

Health| I Tried a Low-Carb Diet and I Feel…

Horrible. Yes I said it. Who thought this no carb thing was a good idea? I don't know what I was thinking. I can understand minimizing the amount of carbs you eat, but completely stopping has left me feeling blah. I don't know if it is because I stopped cold turkey or what, but this just isn't going to work for me. I missed my quinoa and brown rice. Last week I only ate chicken, wild salmon, eggs, nitrate free turkey bacon, dairy (eggs and cheese), and vegetables (spinach and whole green beans). The food was delicious, but I just felt bloated. In hindsight, maybe I should have gone off the carbs gradually. I do know one thing, and that is I am never doing that again. Or maybe I should do more research... After doing some research, I realized that I was missing something key in my diet that I get from my carbs and that is fiber! I came to this revelation after reading this Live … [Read More...]

Travel| Packing 101: 5 Tips to Make Packing Easier

I. HATE. PACKING. I really do. I can never decide what I want to bring and I always end up leaving something important or not bringing enough of something. The story of my traveling life. So in an effort to alleviate some of my stress I created "The HGB Packing List" to make sure I pack everything I need for any trip. In addition to the packing list, I will also share some packing tips that will help prevent overpacking with all of these baggage fees. 1. Use travel size toiletries- I know when traveling you want to feel like you are at home, but full-size products are very bulky. Buy travel size items or the travel size bottles from places like the $.99. I pour my full size products into the smaller bottles when traveling. Use ziploc bags to keep all of your toiletries together. 2. Don't pack what is already there. Make sure your hotel has the amenities to make packing easier. … [Read More...]
