From the words and teachings of Pastor A.R. Bernard
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.
John 14:27 HCSB
One aspect of spiritual health is the ability to partake in the peace that only God can give. Are you willing to accept God’s peace? If you can genuinely answer that question with a resounding yes, then you are richly blessed. But if you have not yet discovered “the peace that passes all understanding,” today is a wonderful day to find it.
The beautiful words of John 14:27 give us hope: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you…” Jesus offers us peace, not as the world gives, but as He alone gives. We, as believers, can accept His peace or ignore it.
When we accept the peace of Jesus Christ into our hearts, our lives are transformed. And then, because we possess the gift of peace, we can share that gift with family members, friends, and the world. If, on the other hand, we choose to ignore the gift of peace-for whatever reason-we simply cannot share what we do not possess.
Today, as a gift to yourself, to your family, and to your friends, make peace with the past by forgiving those who have harmed you. Then claim the inner peace that is your spiritual birthright: the peace of Jesus Christ. It is offered freely; it has been paid for in full; it is yours for the asking. So ask. And then share.
A Simple Step
Do you want to discover God’s peace? Then do your best to live in the center of God’s will. Peace occurs naturally when your values and activities are in agreement
