Jay-z

Hov had to jog our memory and remind us of how great he is.

That Jay-Z is still a lyrical beast!!!!! I’m not just saying that because I am huge fan…he really  just shut everybody down in this song. How do you shut down Elvis and the Rolling Stones? “I crushed Elvis in his blue suede shoes made the RollingStones seem sweet as Kool-Aid too” Love him or hate him, he is a lyrical genius. I think this song is perfect for what’s going on in hip-hop right now. First with his battle against autotune and with the Game, people continue to say he is old, he is forty….yes we know this, but with age comes wisdom. There isn’t an age on timeless music. Nobody has done what Jay has done. Think about all of the rappers that were hot around the same time as Jay, Ja Rule, Nelly, etc, where are they now? Clearly longevity at its best. That is because he did not conform to the trends or what was popular at the time. He continues to produce timeless music. I am super excited for BP3 right now. Stay tuned for details about the benefit concert on September 11, 2009 at Madison Square Garden!
