For this installment of “Style Files” I’m featuring three very distinct looks from three very fashionable women. I would wear each of these looks because they all suit some part of my style and personality. Check out Tia Mowry, Tamar Braxton, and Eve!

Ok for Tia’s look I would definitely wear this to work or church. It is sophisticated and modern. The printed skirt paired with the cream blouse and blue cardi is perfect for this type of fall weather, and you can still wear sandals, but I’d probably opt for a pair of open-toe booties.

Eve’s dress at the BET Hip Hop Awards was stunning. You can never go wrong with black and the sequin and intricate hemline is what makes this dress standout. Her soft curls red lip and wine colored shoes are the perfect compliment. My birthday is Wednesday and this is a look I’d wear to my birthday gathering if I was having one lol.

Last but not least we have Tamar Braxton in a black leather sweatsuit paired with red Christian Louboutin heels. Of course the red shoes are the show stoppers and this look is great for a girl’s night out.

Although they are three distinct looks, which look fits your personality and style best?

I decided to take a break from my New York Fashion Week coverage. Although fashion week ended last Thursday there are still a few more designers I will feature because I was blown away by their creations. Take a look at these amazing dresses on some amazing wmen. from the NAACP Image Awards.

Pops of color definitely brightens up anyone’s mood and this is true with Tia Mowry and Keke Palmer

Vanessa Williams and Tracee Ellis Ross stunned everyone in their black gowns.

To round up the 43rd Image Awards Red Carpet we have Meagan Good, Holly Robinson Pete and Taraji P. Henson who gave us a touch of glam.

Last Friday the stars were out looking their best for the NAACP Image Awards. Some of the nights bigger winners include Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, and Kimberly Elise. Now on to the fashion…

I couldn’t pick a person for best dressed or worst dressed because all of the women were absolutley gorgeous!

I think Angela Basset, Halle Berry, and Tamera Mowry were my favorites. Halle is always on point, Angela looks stunning, and I love the color and draping of Tamera’s dress. Check out who else showed out on the red carpet…

In Hollywood and just the entertainment industry period, there are very few African American actresses that get the recognition they deserve. Often times, the African American women who are glorified in entertainment are not positive influences and don’t represent the race or the culture in a respectable manner. There are few publications besides Essence and Ebony that give a variety African American women a cover page or even an interview.

Yes we have seen Beyonce, Rihanna, Gabrielle Union, and Halle Berry, on tons of covers, but there are so many women in this industry that are constantly overlook. It wasn’t until recently when Arian Simone decided to showcase African-American women in a postiive light who are constantly overlooked because they do not have the star status of Beyonce or Rihanna.

Arian Simon enterprises created Fearless Magazine. A magazine for the fearless woman that focus on fashion, beauty, food, health and faith.  The ladies who cover the first issue are Lauren London, Monique Coleman, Tia Mowry, Tiffany Hines, Naturi Naughton, Kyla Pratt, Jennifer Freeman, and Chyna Layne.

“The Fearless woman is fashion forward, free spirited, and forever fun! She takes pride in her beauty and her community, while still being the life of the party! Fearless profiles positive images of women and men. Our feature stories and editorial direction are designed to inspire and uplift our readers”

This magazine is everything that HerGoodyBag represents. There is a lack of diversity within the industry amongst African American actresses. Roles are not evenly distributed and frankly, I am tired of seeing the same people over and over. I am tired of singers transitioning into the field of acting when there are other actresses who could play certain roles, but they lack star power. I am glad these women are being showcased and hopefully they get the credit they deserve.
