Hey my loves!

Next week Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, and I have some amazing fashion and beauty deals for you all this year. This is the beginning of the holiday shopping season. While some people shop all year round for the holidays, majority of the people, including myself, wait until after Thanksgiving to really get things going.

Here are a few tips before you head out to your favorite shops for your favorite deals.

  1. Make a list! You have to be prepared. This is not the time to go and browse the stores casually. You need to have a plan. You will no exactly what stores to go to and what items you will purchase from the stores. So grab those newspaper circulars or print them out to create your list. You can also prioritize and figure out which stores you will attend first  and what items you will try to grab as well.
  2.  Shop with a friend. Usually I like to shop alone but shopping with a friend during this time is a necessity. You guys can split up and divide and conquer! Ok that may be a little extreme, but you can each pick up the items you need in half of the time. Also you can wait on line in shifts.
  3. Wear comfortable clothing. I would suggest something that you can maneuver in easily, so layers are perfect. Comfortable jeans and knit leggings are essentials. I would go with leggings and some flat riding boots with zippers that will be easy to take off if I need to. Also wear a cross body bag to avoid holding your purse in your hand or on your arm. Lastly oversized cardigans, scarves and anorak jackets are great too. You can tie the jacket around your waist if you get a little warm and the cardigan is great for an additional layer of warmth.
  4. Be assertive, yet friendly. You want to be pleasant to the workers because this is an extremely stressful time and you want them to be as helpful as possible. You have to be assertive when it comes to the other customers. Do not get in to a fight, but if there is a deal that is a must have go for it!
  5. Set reasonable expectations for yourself. You may have 15 items on your list that you want to purchase, but you not be able to get those items, so be realistic on what you can actually accomplish, and also remember, what you do not get on Black Friday there is always Cyber Monday.
So, whether you are shopping on line, or standing in line at your favorite store to get the best deals we have something for you so check it out!

It is officially spring, but like always, winter wants to hang around a tad bit longer. Don’t fret my friends, winter cannot stay forever, so we better start getting ready for her farewell for good.

One item that is on the top of my must have list for spring would be a dress in a fabulous print. There is nothing like a dress in a great print! I love the versatility of prints. You can find one that is bold, feminine, mod, sexy, you name it, there is a print for it. Check out these dresses in a variety of prints that will get you ready for spring.

This is one collaboration that has not been getting the attention like other collabs. Pierre Hardy teamed up with The Gap to create this lace-up, peep-toe, wedge bootie. This booite is all suede with accented leather trimming. This boot debuts next Tuesday (10/19/2010) at Gap stores nationwide and Gap.com for $195.

I am excited to try the Gap’s new collection of pants from “Black Magic.” Every person (man and woman) needs a pair of black pants/slacks. They are essential for every wardrobe. Here is my wish list:

  1. Perfect Trouser $59.50
  2. True Straight $49.50
  3. Really Skinny $59.50
  4. Modern Boot $59.50

Jeans are an essential part of every woman’s wardrobe. With fall right around the corner, jeans are needed to help pull together a polished look. Many people shy away from denim because they simply do not know the right wash or style to purchase, but what they do not realize is that there are many styles that fit all body types.

In fashion magazines like Glamour and Lucky, the August issues focus on finding the perfect jeans. Discount retailers like Target have adopted a new promotional add entitled “Be Jeanius,” which simply means being smart and finding the perfect jeans. During the pre-fall fashion season denim is heavily promoted. Stores like the Gap are also running promotions like “Born To Fit” showcasing jeans of varying styles.

Here is a list and description of jeans that will have you, or keep you, looking stylish, polished and overall great.

Skinny Jeans

Snug fitting jeans through the leg that are tapered at the ankles. These jeans hug the curves and with a platform heel creates the illusion of a longer, leaner leg.

Boyfriend Jeans

These jeans are the definition of men’s wear with a touch of femininity. Although they are very loose fitting paired with a fitted top and heels, men’s wear has now been transformed into something fashionable and stylish for women.

Trouser Jeans

These jeans have the look and, sometimes feel, of trouser pants. They can be worn wide leg or straight leg. They give a very polished look, especially if they are a dark denim wash.

Jeggings
No they are not officially jeans, but you get the comfort of leggings with a more polished look. Jeggings can give the illusion of skinny jeans, if and only if, they are made of quality material. Brands like Express have great looking jeggings that could easily be mistaken for jeans. (Kim that was for you lol)

These are just a few options to get your jean style ready for the fall, check Target, The Gap, and other retailers for great deals.
