Summer’s here so its  time to enjoy your favorite singer, rapper, band, or musician. New York City is robust with shows and festivals some of which are free throughout the summer. I’ve never been one to frequent these events but it seem to be all the rage (guess my age is catching up with me).

Whether its MSG for a headliner pumping with the crowd or just Central Park hearing your favorite raps amongst the trees you still have to look cool while remaining cool. Just you and your peoples jumping from borough to borough.

So try these outfits out for a try since they’re cool and collected and perfect for summer concert and festivals.

Staying with her “causal” trend of the last few days Rihanna was spotted heading to dinner at Da Silvano Restaurant in NYC earlier this week wearing an all red ensemble paired with Christian Louboutin Trash Oxfords.

Definantly a different and low-key look for Rih, Rih.

What do you guys thing: Rock it or Drop it?

This will be an amazing experience ladies. For a complete list of participating boutiques in the NYC area, click here

So my best friend, Erica, is in town this week. She came up from Philly to visit and I havn’t seen her since my graduation in May so we had our usual BFF (with her younger siblings outing). I found out about the Mr. Brainwash “ICONS” Remix exhibit via twitter and it is amazing. What you are about to see is only a small snap shot of what the exhibit entails.

Erica, Julianne, Samuel, and Me…I remember when I was taller than him…that was a long time ago lol.

These portraits are amazing!

Images made out of vinyl

This is so powerful!

The horse is actually made out of tires and Martin Luther King Jr. with the coolest hat and shades.

Mr. Brainwash also paid tribute to some of the greats in the world of art: Keith Herring, Picasso, Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, and others. He also paid tribute to the greats in music, politics, civil rights, science, and sports: Martin Luther King Jr., Michale Jackson, Muhammad Ali,  Albert Einstein, The Beatles, Kiss, Ray Charles…and more.

The color motif was pink and here is the story behind it:

Mr. Brainwash had a can of pink paint in his trunk. It spilled out in his trunk and was dripping everywhere. He was inspired then to create the remix to his “ICONS” exhibit

If you are in the NYC area, check out the exhibit in the Meat Packing District.

In honor of Independence Day which is Sunday, this weeks drink and featured looks are very patriotic.

This is actually one of my favorite drinks from BBQs.

In a large glass pour the blue hawaiian, followed by the pina colada, topped with the strawberry daiquiri. Click the links of each part to find out how to make each specific drink.

Here are quite a few looks that will show your patriotism (I know I went a little over board, lol I wanted to give you quite a few options.)

I absolutely adore rompers! So this set features four, simple, plain colored rompers with different shoes that can either be worn during the day or night.

This is my go to BBQ look. A pair of shorts, cute top, cute sandals and a shoulder bag. I can’t let anything get in the way of my food 🙂

There will be tons of independence day, red/white/blue themed parties this weekend, so here are some great looks for the evening.

I really love this dress…it is only $28 and it is from Top Shop! This is another night time look complete with accessories.

I hope I have inspired you to show your country some support this weekend. I am not big on red, white, and blue but I had a lot of fun making these sets. Of course you are not limited to these options here, but this weekend, go for bright colors and bold patterns. Dress up your rompers with a cute pair of heels, or dress down a dress with a cute pair of flats. Even if you don’t wear red, white, and blue still have fun showcasing your style. Show your independence through fashion.
