These ladies stepped out in style this weekend!

My Thoughts:

  1. I love Lala’s feathered/fringed skirt with the blazer and booties. I wore a look similar to this, but my skirt was pink.
  2. Nia Long’s printed dress with the open-toe knee-boots is a great look for the fall. It is very relaxed, yet chic.
  3. I love the shorts and the boots that Keri Hilson is wearing. I think the shoulders on the sweater are a little to strong and structured for this look. The proportions are not flattering.
  4. I am not a total fan of Kerry Washington’s total look, but I do love the shoes!

This weekend the celebs were definitely out and about! Award Shows, Birthday parties, and even the birth of a healthy baby boy topped this weekends headlines.

Ebony turns 65 and brought stars like Usher, Mary J. Blige, Nia Long,Taraji P. Henson, and Samuel L. Jackson to help celebrate this milestone in their November issue. I personally think the color scheme is great! The silver/grey looks with the red lettering really makes a strong statement.

I can say the same about the November issue of Essence Magazine which features the beautiful, talented, and fashionable Kerry Washington.

This cover is simply amazing. Everything from Kerry’s hair to her nail polish just make you stare. This issue is about race in America. Kerry Washington was recently on broadway starring in the play Race (I heard mixed reviews, but didn’t get a chance to check it out myself) and in this issue she states “…I don’t want to ignore my Blackness. I  just want to get to the point where my racial identity is simply what makes me unique…” This should be an interesting read.

If I’m not mistaken (correct me if I’m wrong) this is Kerry Washington’s first cover issue for Essence Magazine. It is quite nice to see a refreshing face on the cover. It is also quite nice that Essence is covering a real topic unlike last months issue with Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe, and Lance Gross where they “teach” black women how to keep their man from cheating. That’s an entirely different issue…

Kerry has two movies coming out “Night Catches Us” and “For Colored Girls” which hits theatres November 5th.
