2013-final

Have you made your New Year’s Eve plans yet? How will you be ringing in the New Year? House party? Club? Lounge? Upscale restaurant? We have a look appropriate for almost any function (except for church). So take a look at these outfits I created to have you  “shine bright like a diamond” *Rihanna Voice” and enter the New Year in a spectacular way.

Look #1 (click the image for product details) For this look I wanted something sexy, yet cool. So I paired multi-color sequins pants with a black peplum top and red blazer for a pop of color. For accessories I added a gold collar necklace, gold cuff earrings, and a multi-colored cocktail ring to complete the look. Lastly a great clutch and pair of shoes are a NECESSITY, but because I wanted the focus to be on the pants I paired simple black peep toe pumps with a simple black clutch for the finishing touches.

Look #2 (click the image for product details) Gold and other metallics are perfect for the New Year. I wanted something classy and sophisticated so I paired this sweetheart sequins peplum dress with gold pumps and gold/glitter accessories. The dress has a hint of rose, so I added rose gold earrings and to the look. Because of the intricate detailing of the dress, I kept the accessories to a minimum. Lastly I would use the Urban Decay naked palette to create a a soft neutral eye with gold highlights.

Look #3 (click the image for product details) I call this my spicy look. The first was edgy, the second was sweet, but the third will definitely take your style game up a notch. I paired a sequins gold bustier top with a black pencil skirt (high-waist skirts are optional). For my accessories I wanted to add a color to break up the black and gold so I went with maroon/burgundy accessories. With this look you get to show a little skin, but also keep somethings to the imagination.

What will be your go to look to bring in 2013?

New Year’s Eve has to be the biggest party night of the year. Whether you are at a small gathering with just family or friends, or at a star-studded party at a popular night club, everyone wants to ring in the new year having a good time.

Here are some photos of how some of our favorite celebs celebrated

Congratulations to LeBron and Savannah on their engagement. The two celebrated the new year at a birthday gathering for LeBron where he popped the big question. I won’t comment on the pants.

Friday night a few of our favorite celebs were out and about bringing in the new year in style! Here’s a closer look of the celebs whose looks I love and, well the others.

Jennifer Hudson looks AMAZING. Fergie also looks stunning in her dress.

Brandy kept it simple with an all black cocktail dress and a pair of fly open toe platform booties. She nalied this look.

The color of Taraji’s dress looks gorgeous. Perfect color for her skin tone.

Rihanna always pushes the limits with her fashion choices, but I am not feeling this look. The dress is gorgeous, but there are way too many contrasting colors and it is doing a little too much. There is no cohesiveness to the look. I think with a different pair of shoes or if the dress was a different color, she would have nailed the look.

I think if Nicki would have chosen simpler accessories she would have nailed the look. I actually love the dress and the shoes!

Now on to the fellas

The fellas did not do too bad this New Year’s Eve. They definitely showed their individual style Friday night.

Fab and Diddy always look great in suits so I am not surprised with their looks.

B.o.B is so eccletic. I love his style, but he could have switched it up a little for the festivities. No one really parties in duck boots and trapper hats.

Did you see this man’s Master Class premiere on Oprah’s OWN Network? Amazing

This wasn’t expected from Mr. West, but ummm ok

If you and your friends still have not solidified any plans for New Year’s Eve, here are a few suggestions from Glamour that will not break your pockets. As we all know, this is the one time of year when clubs and restaurants charge outrageous prices to bring in the new year at their establishment. I don’t think paying $100 per person to bring in the New Year is necessary. You can still have a great time and get ahead start on that savings plan for 2011. Here are the suggestions for a great New Year’s Eve date that won’t break the bank.

1. Invite a few friends over for a potluck. Your delicious smorgasbord will be way more wallet-friendly than dinner at a fancy pants restaurant. Plus, you’ll have plenty to snack on while waiting for the ball to drop.

2. Order delivery and watch your favorite movies on DVD. If you and your beau are hoping for a more intimate way to ring in the New Year, call up your favorite delivery spot. Remember to place your order super early (at least an hour before you’d like to eat), delivery times on big holidays can be pretty intense.

3. Have dinner at a diner or burger joint. If you’d really like to go out on Friday but don’t want to drop a ton of dough, head to a hole-in-the-wall spot you love. Your dinner bill will probably cost less than cover charge at a fancy club. And since most party-minded folks will go to dressy and expensive restaurants that require reservations, your no-frills dive shouldn’t be too crowded. If you’re feeling really festive you and your fellow could splurge and order a milkshake. With two straws.

4. Prepare a few fancy appetizers and drinks and have a romantic night in. Get in touch with your Iron Chef fantasies by whipping up your favorite culinary goodies.

5. Get your game on. Play one of your favorite board games together while sipping champagne. Slightly saucy Scrabble, anyone?
