I am in love with maxi skirts now. They are so low maintenance, but when styled the right way, they can add a touch of glam. This green maxi from Top Shop is such a great color. IMO, this shade of green can be complimented by so many colors, peach, gold yellow, tan/toffee/caramel, purple, white, turquoise, coral…there are so many possibilities. I decided to style this look for someone who is laid back, but every once in a while thye want to take their look up a notch without leaving their comfort zone.

This is what I wore on Saturday to the Brooklyn Stone Boutique for the FSL Cosmetics event. The weather in NYC on Saturday was terrible! It was very chilly, humid, and there were scattered thunderstorms throughout the day. I knew I didn’t want to wear jeans because I just didn’t feel like it, so I put on my favorite maxi dress/skirt (it can be worn either way) with a denim cropped top and my clog sandals and went on my way.

What I Wore

Once this picture of Rihanna surfaced I got tons of requests for affordable maxi skirts similar to what the singer is wearing.

I love maxi skirts. They are the most comfortable things to wear, especially in jersey fabrics. I have two maxi skirts, one from Target that converts in to a dress and the second is a multi-color print skirt by CAVI that I purchased from Macy’s.

They are easy to stye with a few basic items, t-shirt, tank top, cropped top, vest, wedges, flat sandals, or heels and a few accessories. These are items that we all have in our closets so we are not reinventing the wheel. All you have to do is mix and match to reinvent your look.
