When you have on a good bra your whole life changes. Ok maybe not your whole life, but definitely your entire look. Through out the year I wait patiently to see commercials or advertisements on the television and newspapers for Macy’s. I look through my Macy’s catalog’s religiously for the words “Bra Sale Buy 2 Get 2 Free.” I was just having this conversation with someone a few weeks ago. I was like man when was the last time Macy’s had a bra sale. Usually, it is buy 2 get 1 free, but that sale doesn’t get me excited.

So yesterday off I went to to rack up on some bras. I had to get fitted because the girls have been growing out of control like I’m going through puberty. It is just ridiculous. I also had a hard time finding the cute bras in my new size. I thought a 34D was a common size but they had almost everything but that. I don’t understand how they can have 2 full racks of As and Bs and one little lonely D rack. If all of the As and Bs are still there and the Ds are all gone, shouldn’t you have more Ds? The Ds that I did find were a 36 and 38. I mean really? Can  you have more of a variety…sheesh. Is that too much to ask?

I tried on about 12 bras and I ended up buying 7 pairs.  2 pairs were packaged together because they were 2 for $29.99. So I spent about $100 for 7 bras. I couldn’t find other bras that fit well so I ended up getting a bra for a family member as my 8th option.

I’ve come to realize that my favorite brand is Maidenform. First off, they always have bras in my size. I didn’t have to search high and low in their section.

I also love Maidenform because they are extremely comfortable. The straps are not too thick or too thin and they provide great support. Their t-shirt bras are my favorite.

Head to your local Macy’s for a proper fitting and to take advantage of such a great sale!

Yesterday was what people have been calling “The New Year’s Eve of Fashion.” Fashion’s Night Out might be one of the largest events NYC has ever seen. Last year there were huge crowds but this year was insane.

I didn’t have time to go home and chnage to wear what I originally had planned, so I jumped on the train, straight after work to meet my friend Shara. We had plans on FNO hopping, going to multiple places in one area. We chose Herlad Square and decided to head to Macy’s, Lord & Taylor (a few blocks away), H&M, and Sephora.

The night was so crazy we only made it to our first stop, Macy’s. Here are some photos of my night

I wore a printed top, navy blue high-waisted pencil skrt, and I accessorized with burgundy t-strap pumps, gold watch, and gold hoop earrings.

Shara wore a black and grey dress paired with a black cardigan and acessorized with black suede pumps and beaded jewelry.

We were both so tired after working all day and being on our feet all day and then being on our feet all night. Next year we are definitely wearing flats!

Our first stop was with Samantha Ronson. She does not look like a very happy DJ, but she was playing all of the hits! This was a great way to start the night, with great music!

We then walked around the store, of course hit up the shoe department, and there are about 4 pairs of Jessica Simpson shoes that I would like in my closet right now! That’s another post though. We then landed on the 5th floor for a fashion show and runway challenge with Miss J. Alexander from America’s Next Top Model.

This is the crowd waiting for Miss J.

He finally arrived (40 minutes after his scheduled time) and hit the runway. His walk is definitely fierce! He was also sigining copies of his new book “Follow the Model: Miss J’s Guide to Unleashing Presence, Poise, and Power

We then continued to walk around the store, and I spotted this fierce live model.

Animal print, fur, and sky high heels…definitely a great look for the fall!

We made our way to the 2nd floor to meet  I.N.C. International Concepts Editor Anna Del Russo. They had live models taking photos of guests, a great DJ and they were also giving out the cutest little headbands.

I loved the booties all of the models were wearing. There color scheme was right in line with the fall! My favorites were the yellow pleated skirt, yellow sweater, and black and white print dress.

Ok so this is when the madness happened. I.N.C. were giving out headbands that said “ADR (Anna Del Russo) INC.” The headbands were black and had a black veil. They were super cute. I snapped a picture of an employee wearing one.

Cute right? Anyway EVERYONE and their mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, fathers, uncles…(you get the picture right?) wanted one! They were swarming the associates and almost fought! Over a headband they will never wear again mind you. They were snatching headbands from each other, snapping people’s headbands in half, pushing the associates. One associate literally had to duck through the crowds of people to get away. It was really that bad. I was like ok this is not happening, I don’t need a headband that bad and walked away. I was not about to lose my life over this. That’s how serious some people got. It was unbelievable!

So I didn’t get a headband, but as I was about to leave I did get a rose from the associates in the cosmetic/fragrance department. Their motto was “Fashion starts with Fragrance.” It was too cute.

On our way out of Macy’s, we spotted Carson Kressley and Shaun Robinson who were conducting the interviews for Access Hollywood. We could barely snap pictures. Security was tight and strict in that area. This is the one picture that I managed to snap on my Blackberry.

It was a great night overall. Even though I didn’t make it to see Solange or to Sephora or H&M (my feet and ankles would not let me) I still had a good time.

Where did you go for Fashion’s Night Out?

I am back from my vacation and I must say I had a wonderful time. My friends and I try to take at least one vacation together at least once per year and this year trip is definitely in the Top 3. We had so much fun! Anyway here is a recap of a few of the outfits that I wore. I honestly wasn’t in the mood to take tons of pictures because I just wanted to be laid out on the beach getting a tan, but here are photos of what I did capture

This is day 1 of the trip and this was my traveling outfit: Black Romper, Leopard Crop Top, Flat Sandals

Day 2: Yellow maxi skirt with slit, royal blue racerback tank, sandals, bold jewelry

I got the skirt for $7. It was all lonely on the rack and I just had to get it.

Party time: Black and white striped body con skirt, royal blue tube top, black peep-toe sling back heels

Day 3: Khaki Shorts, Rust crop top, gold sandals, peacock necklace

We couldn’t go to Puerto Rico without visiting the El Yunque Rain Forest. It was such an awesome experience! This waterfall was so beautfiul. I was in awe the entire time. A few of my friends climbed the rocks and got really close for great pictures. I didn’t have on my sneakers yet so I didn’t climb the rocks, but it was still a great view.

Party Time: Orange t-shirt body con dress, red patent leather belt and shoes, red earrings

Every year we go away we try to have theme nights. So this night was “Caliente.”  You had to wear something red, orange, or yellow. A few of my friends didn’t get that memo and wore blue but they still looked amazing.

All White Night: White baby doll dress, jeweled sandals, bold jewelry

Our last night on vacation we always wear all white. It is an amazing sight to see 6 beautiful black women all tanned and bronzed glowing in all white. Since this was our last night we always try to go out with a bang and we most certainly did! We went  to Senor Frogs and if you’ve ever been there, you know what happens there. I wanted to wear something light and flowy so that I won’t be restricted when dancing and so I can catch a cool breeze.

When we got out of the car everyone in the area were staring at us like we were celebrities. We started waving and asking people how they were doing. I guess I would stare too if I saw a group of friends dressed in all white walking the streets lol. We told the hostess and waiter in Senor Frogs that we were all getting married and this was our last trip before we each tied the knot and then they gave us free drinks. Overall it was an amazing experience and I love my girls to death!

I have been meaning to post a few outfit pics but I haven’t had the time, but here is my mashup mix. Just a few single shots of what I have been wearing lately.

April 12, 2011 I had the opportunity to attend the Spring Launch of the R & Em handbag line featuring style blogger Keiko Lynn. The weather was a bit much, but that did not stop many bloggers from attending the great event.

Keiko Lynn was there herself showing the newest handbags from the collection and also her exclusive lookbook with R&Em. What I love about this line is that the bags are very chic but inexpensive. The most expensive bag will run about $108 which is a great price for a quality handbag. The line is sold exclusively at Macy*s and Macys.com.

Not only was there great conversations and handbags, there were also great treats and champagne. Everyone who attended also had an opportunity to become florists for the evening and we all created unique bouquets with roses, tulips and much more.

I met up with many bloggers from the meetup group like Melissa from O So Chic, Yanil from The New Yorker Style, Nicole from Black Shoes Diary, Christine from Tineey.com, and Sahra from Effortless Cool.

Check out pics from the collection and to also see which bag I chose
