According to Essence.com

“MAC Cosmetics has announced that Nicki along with Ricky Martin will take over the Viva Glam campaign starting in February of next year. Both Nicki and Ricky are already busy at work in Miami today living la vida loca at a photoshoot for the new ads.

The two are following in the footsteps of Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper who currently represent the brand.

MAC donates 100 percent of the proceeds from Viva Glam lip products to fight HIV and AIDS.”

Nicki’s “Pink Friday” lipstick sold really well, so it was only a matter of time. I can’t wait until the ads come out, I know they will be over the top. Congratulations Nicki and Ricky

Nylon Magazine (July 2011) has revealed that nine LUCKY beauty bloggers were chosen to not only tour the MAC cosmetics factory, but were able to create their very own, self-customized product!  This all went down in April.  I was immediately jealous and happy for them all, at the same time.  Like I said, nine were chosen, however, only four of the bloggers were featured in the article.  Of course Afrobella‘s Patrice Yursik, and Temptalia‘s Christine Mielke were two of the nine selected.  The other two featured in the article were Beauty Maverick‘s Lily Nima, and Beauty Blogging Junkie‘s Amber Katz.  Each blogger had the opportunity to create either a lipglass or eyeshadow.

On behalf of Aileen, the beauty blogger from Shades of You, below are the pictures of the collection.  Check her site for more information on the process, and her inspiration for selecting her shade of lipglass named Sonoran Rain.

Other bloggers who were featured are: Lianne Farbes – The Makeup Girl| Karen – Makeup & Beauty Blog | Wendy – Nitrolicious | Ellen Mirza – Lipstick Powder Paint

I think it’s great that MAC is embracing bloggers in this way.  Other companies should definitely follow suit.

What will you be getting from this collection?
