On November 29th, I had the opportunity to hear from various sponsors and also network with other bloggers at Kitty Bradshaw’s Meet N’ Tweet. Kitty is one of my favorite bloggers because one she has no filters and keeps it all the way real. She is always willing to help those up and coming bloggers and she has been a great help to me and my blog.

So at the event I got to mingle with some of my favorite bloggers such as my Kim from I Have a Degree in This, Melanie and Melissa of O So Chic, Shanequa from Temple of Glam, Patrick from The World and Mr. Sykes, Chrisitine from Tineey.com and of course my friend Kim from Makeup by Kim Porter. There were about 45 bloggers in attendance so it was great to see familiar faces and meet new bloggers.

The whole purpose of the event was to build new relationships with bloggers and sponsors. The drinks were sponsored by Barefoot Bubbly & Wines which I absolutely love and the event was held at the nRelate offices.

Many of the brands that sponsored the event were new to me so it was great to hear about their products and what they had to say.

Familiar brands like Hanes Hosiery provided all of the female attendants with the Silk Reflection Blackout Coverage opaque tights. I wore mine recently and they are amazing, seriously. Some tights that claim to be opaque are somewhat sheer, but these tights are really opaque and comfortable.

CND provided hand and body lotion from their Vanilla Collection and nail polish from the Plum Truffle Collection. Covergirl Queen Collection provided the female attendnts with lipstick. I received the cool khaki color.

Other brands that were sponsors that I was not familiar with was Squeem Magical Lingerie and Pencil Me in Cosmetics. Squeem provided all attendants with waist cinching body shapers to prevent the muffin top, or souffle top as Kitty calls it. Pencil Me in Cosmetics is a line which features vitamin enriched eye liners. How awesome is that?

One of the most compelling parts of the night came from the Angel Street Thrift/LES Service Center Charity. Kitty Bradshaw has her own line of cookies courtesy of Tasty Morsels, and 10% of the proceeds will benefit the Angel Street Thrift and Lower Eastside Service Center. Check out more information on how you can purchase the cookies and donate to a great cause here.

Other sponsors include: B Braxton for Men, Zebra Pens, Accessories Remix, Modern Courteson by YS (perfume) Emergen-C.

Thank you to all of the sponsors and a special thanks to Kitty Bradshaw for putting on a fabulous event.

Sorry for the delay in posts! Fashion week was so much fun, but ridiculously insane! This was also my first full week back to work. I was drained mentally and physically hence the lack of posts, but I am back. So this is one of my looks that I rocked during New York Fashion Week. I believe this was Day 3 or Day 4 I am not completely sure. I attended the Honor by Giovanna Randall and Venexiana shows. After the Venexiana show myself along with a few of my blogging buddies attended a party for Tracee Ellis Ross hosted by Essence.com at Shun Lee. I was featured in their Street Style section and was super excited.

My entire outfit (except the shoes) came from H & M.  I actually bought my leopard print pumps from Sears about a month ago.

Here are a few photos at Shun Lee

The Cupid Shuffle brought everyone to the dance floor.

Melissa and Melanie of O So Chic and Makeda of Glamazon Diaries

I love the color palett that we have going on!

Kitty of Kitty Bradshaw.com, Makeda, and Melissa once again.

If it wasn’t for Kitty and Melissa I would have been home at 6pm after my last show, but we walked to the CND Shellac Manicure truck, which was closed, then met up with Nikki of Osei Pr and Teena Leone of Fashion for Breakfast and had lunch. I was ready to go home but Kitty was like girl you better stay and network, which is how I got a chance to meet Makeda and a few other bloggers. After the shows we headed to Shun Lee and had a blast! So thank you to Kitty and Melissa for a great time and a great fashion week!

This weekend was HECTIC. The weekends are usually for rest, but I got none of that. My day on Saturday started EARLY. I went to the Macy’s Flower Show with my mom and my niece. We also did some shopping for my brother whose birthday is today (Happy Birthday Lloyd 🙂 ) The flower show was beautiful! I took some great photos and will be creating looks based off of the flowers so stay tuned.

After I left my mom and niece, I met up with my friend Shelly and we attended the Getting Gorgeous with Degree event hosted my Audrey McClelland and Vera Sweeney. Since this was an event geared toward bloggers of course I saw most of my blogging buddies (Melissa and Melanie of O So Chic, Kitty of Kitty Bradshaw, Shanequa of Temple of Glam, Christine from Tineey.com and bloggers I recently met from the NYC Blogger’s Meetup Group (Monroe from Fashion Steele, Pam from Cinderella’s Closet, Ellie from City Brewed, Nubia from Nubia’s Nonsense, Jen from House of Jeffers, and Stephanie from Girl Friday.

There were many brands represented as well such as Degree, Hanes, Flip out Sandals, Sandals Resorts, Goody Hair Accessories, Hair Room Service etc.

This was a great event. I met a lot of great people and got some great things for my readers, so be on the look out for giveaways.

Now that I got all of that out of the way, here is what I wore

Last night in NYC, I had the privilege of attending the grand opening of the new Call It Spring Shoes store in Manhattan Mall, courtesy of Shine Media PR and John Simon from John Simon Daily . This grand opening was one of the most anticipated events of the summer and a great way to usher in the Fall season.

Everyone in attendance was able to view the hottest trends in sandals, shoes, boots, handbags, and accessories for the fall season. Music was provided by DJ Reach, and we had delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks (my favorite white wine sangria) provided by Indiana Catered Food. The most exciting perk of this event was the $150 gift card given to each guest. So imagine a room full of bloggers and fashionistas, and a $150 gift card in their hands….it was total MAYHEM.

Call It Spring Shoes offered a great variety of styles and their price points were definitely budget friendly. Being the sister store of Aldo Shoes, the prices at Call It Spring range from $19.99-$119, a great alternative to Aldo. They offered great prices on the season’s hottest styles like oxfords and wedge booties. They also offered great prices on their handbags. The most expensive bag that I saw was $40 and that is not expensive at all.

I caught up with the usual blogging buddies Makeup By Kim Porter, O So Chic, Kitty Bradshaw, The Style and Beauty Doctor, Temple of Glam, The Fab Chick, The Bliss List, KMP Blog, Divas and Dorks, Living Fly On A Dime, Oh My Spry…I hope I did not forget anyone.

Overall this was an amazing event. It did get a little hectic because there were so many people who needed assistance and there was a long wait for shoes, but most people were extremely patient and calm, and the staff was amazing. I was able to score 2 pairs of wedge booties and a cute pair of shooties. The gift bag included cookies from Indiana Catered Food and a cute cross body bag. Overall, I was pleased with my experience and I will be purchasing from Call It Spring Shoes again in the very near future (maybe this weekend lol).

Special thanks to Shine Media PR for an amazing event.

Yesterday I attended Kitty Bradshaw’s 2-year blogiversary networking event. It was held at the APART Showroom in Manhattan. The night was full of great bloggers, great food, great drinks, great manicures, great conversations and an even greater goody bag. She had a great turn out and I was able to meet many of my fellow bloggers that I follow on twitter like The Fab Chick, Pink Monkey, and Nik of The Single Girl’s Guide to Men. Here are some photos of the event.

I attended the event with my friend Kim the MUA

Here are a few pieces from APART that were on display

In the goody bag, APART also gave the fashion bloggers a flash drive with a preivew of their 2010 Fall Collection! I was so excited about this! Expect an IN DEPTH review soon.  I love the sequins leggings with the black turtleneck and blazer, it is a subtle look but makes a strong statement. The blue sequins dress is also amazing. My favorite piece would have to be the brown leather jacket. Kim actually brought that jacket to my attention at another event we went to maybe about a month ago. Seeing it again is a confirmation…I need to get it!

They also had great cupcakes provided by Tonnie’s Minis

Now anybody that knows me, know that I love a good cupcake, and these were DELICIOUS! My favorite had to be the red velvet. One thing that I love more than cute little mini cupcaks would have to be SHOES (crazy transition right?)

Nina Shoes was a sponsor for the event and they showcased their Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 line.

I love the blue jewel encrusted peep toe. That is a great date/evening shoe. I also love the pink strappy sandal. It is fun and flirty. It can be paired with jeans, shorts, or a dress and add a different dynamic to each look.
My favorite shoe would have to be the light up booties! They are a perfect night time/club party shoe! These definitely make a statement, but what’s great about this bootie is that you can turn off the lights. So if you want to have fun and be the center of attention, let the booties light up, but you have the option of turning off the shoe for a more subtle look.

I loved this guys DSquared2 sneakers and the wedge heels are simply fabulous. They are also made by Nina Shoes

I had a really great time. Congratulations to Kitty Bradshaw for 2 years of blogging success!
