Rocsi is this weeks HGB Fashionista. She recently had a photo shoot and interview with HoneyMag and she talks about the affect the media and bloggers  have had on her and her self-esteem

“I think a lot of these Web sites need a story.”  They need to find somebody to pick on, and I just so happen to be one of those girls. I’ve always had that coming up against Free on a black network and not being black.”

“I got where I’m at because of my work,” Rocsi insists. “I never had to lay on my back to get where I was. I come from a Latino background where family and the way we were brought up was very important. That’s how we conducted ourselves as ladies. And that’s a very important thing to my family, so yeah, when these blogs come out and they start talking shit — you’re messing with what my parents instilled in me. And I know it isn’t true. But I’m glad I have great family members who know that I wasn’t brought up that way, to not be blinded by this industry.

I mean it’s real bad when it gets to the point where everything’s so unbearable. You really got to have that strength, because if I didn’t have that strength in me, I would kill myself. There are some days when I’m like ‘How bad do I want to kill myself right now? What is the point of going on when so many people despise me or hate what I do? At the end of the day, I don’t meltdown because I’m still going to be on BET,” Rocsi says. “Internet gangsters are so tough. They’re so tough.”

I love the fact that Rocsi is so honest when it comes to expressing how the industry has been affecting her. I’m pretty sure she loves what does, but if it is to a point where you have thought about committing suicide, you may need to take a step back and re-evaluate your situation. It kills me to see how low her self-esteem is. The entertainment industry seems like a very dark place. People are under scrutiny by fans, supporter, “haters,” industry execs, and so forth. It seems like no one can do anything right. I guess it comes with the territory huh. YOu have to be a really strong person, mentally and spiritually to survive in any industry put especially entertainment because people are watching your every move and they are waiting for you to fail. I pray Rocsi remains strong and do not let all of the negativity cause her to do something that she will regret.

You can’t place the blame on anyone in particular but some of these bloggers have a responsibility also. People are mentally weak and easily influenced so don’t be the reason that a person “pulls the trigger” or “takes the pills”

As the week winds down, I have decided to add a new section to the blog. The HGB Fashionista of the Week (name may change) This section would focus on the celebrity or celebrities who embody the HGB Style. So the first HGB Fashionista of the Week post goes to three women who just looked absolutely amazing this week 58690312

Zoe Saldana- I think this look is simple, classic, and chic.

amber rose

Amber Rose looked stunning in this red mini. She looked very elegant. This is a major change from her usual, but still fly, raunchy catsuits.

Jennifer Hudson-Since she returned on the scene after having her baby she has been on point. She looks absolutely amazing. Black is always classic (and slimming) The belt cinches her waist perfectly! Usually she looks like a stuffed potato but she got it right this time and looks great!
