It is a great feeling when you see young people paving their own way and creating their own lane to succeed in life. It is an even greater feeling when you actually know the person doing it. So with all that said I bring to you “Fly Credentials.”

Created by a college friend affectionately known as “Mush” Fly Credentials stands for two things

“The meaning behind the name is based on the fact that the term “fly” is misused and I believe in order to truely be “fly” that you have to have the total package meaning the look and the confidence to wear anything that you like. The second part of the name came about because to have credentials means that you have some type of background or history of doing something.”

I love the fact that Fly Credentials is a line that is socially conscious and inspiring. One of their new releases will be a t-shirt against the epidemic of bullying.

There are other inspirational messages like “Dreams over Drugs”

“My personal goal for this brand is to be able to show people that you can be the dopest thing in the room with out being the most expensive. Its all about how you carry yourself.” -Mush

I could not have said it better myself!

Last week one of my friends invited me to his sister’s final presentation at FIT and there is where I met Melody Ehsani. I have been a fan of hers for years. I ordered custom made earrings from her for my very first Her Goody Bag   shoot.

I must tell you that she is a super sweetheart. I didn’t want to bog her down with tons of questions but I did manage to sneak in a few.

I asked Melody when she originally started designing did she expect this type of response to her designs, she said no. She just started designing because she loved being creative.

Many celebs have been seen rocking her designs like Alicia Keys, Keri Hilson, and Beyonce, but her first major client was Prince. She also designed for Erykah Badu.

I asked Melody what did she have in store for everyone next. She has teamed up with Reebok to create a sneaker which will be relesed next summer and she is now working on an apparel line.

If you missed the last post I did on Melody Ehsani’s Spring 2011 Collection check out the collection now
