I don’t know where my mind has been but I haven’t done a weekend recap in ages! This week I decided to go with potential holiday party looks.

First up we have Jessica White in an elegant black gown with a high-split. This look is perfect for a holiday gala. It is not overwhelmingly revealing, but yet shows that you have a little sex appeal.

Next we have Sanaa Lathan who looks regal in red. The off the shoulder dress is very figure flattering. If you are attending a cocktail party, this look is definitely appropriate.

Last but not least we have Christina Milian on the set of The Voice, in a yellow brocade skirt and yellow top. This is great for drinks after work, or even your office party. This look is simple, but the brocade detailing on skirt spices up the look.

Happy Friday!!!! I hope you all had a great week and are ready to start the weekend in style! For this weeks  Style Files Weekly Recap most of our favorite looks come from the movie premiere of Sparkle which is in theaters today so go support! Ok now that I have the disclaimer out of the way, it is time to get down to business.

  • Tika Sumpter looks like the Oscar statue in this gold Bill Blass dress. She is simply stunning! It is classy, yet a little sexy without going overboard. I love how the gold compliments her skin.
  • Christina Milian is rocking my second favorite look. I love the combination of shorts and a blazer. Her high bun adds instant glam to her look. This look is great for a girls night out. You get to show a little bit of leg, edge, and sophistication.
  • June Ambrose looked amazing as well in this dress during the Sparkle premiere. With this dress it is all about the details.
  • Last but not least, the star of the movie, Jordin Sparks, looked radiant in this red peplum dress. She went for a monochromatic look by pairing it with red pumps.

There you have it! Which celeb rocked the best look this week?

Neon colors have been one of the major trends for spring 2012 and can be seen in many fashion collections this season (especially the resort collections).  When most people think of neon colors they think of the 80’s, legwarmers, acid wash denim and spandex or cheap clothes (eeek)!   With a modern and refreshing take, neon has made a huge comeback in the past 2 years and can virtually be worn by everyone no matter what their style is.

Some designers used neon colors to create bold garments and shoes and some used neon as more of a compliment to their main colors by using neon colored accessories and neon trims on their bags and shoes — this allows for everyone to incorporate the color into their existing wardrobe, whether it just be a statement necklace, blazer or the ever so popular choice for this season, neon colored skinnies!

I can’t say I’ve ever been a huge fan of neon colors (I own a lot of black) but this season I’ve really been embracing these bright colors!   My favorite neon color for the season is hands down the florescent yellow – it compliments so many others colors and patterns and looks good on everyone!  I realize there are many of us out there who are a tad bit more reserved with wearing all those bright colors however as I stated the neon trend is for EVERYONE and if you really are loving these colors but are feeling hesitant to take the leap, start off small (try an accessory or a neon trimmed shoe)!  If you love to overdose in color, GO BLOD — color block with the neon colors and grab everyone’s attention :).

I’ve posted some photo inspiration (with some of my favorite celebs and designers)  for ALL my ladies — those who want a more refined and classic take on neon as well as those who want to step out in a bold and colorful way this summer.

Will you be partaking in the neon trend this season?  Are there any items you have your eyes set on??!

Neon outfit(s)  inspired post to come shortly!

As seen on celebs like Angela Simmons, Bridget Kelly, and Christina Milian- the metal collar necklace is definitely a trend you want to partake in. If you are too conservative for bolder and brighter statement necklaces, this is a necklace that gives you the boldness to make your outfit pop, without being too overbearing. Hey lovelies!

I hope you all had an incredible weekend. Now it is back to the grind-work, school, etc. So like we do almost every Monday, here is the rundown of some of our favorite celebs and what they wore this weekend. Check out this weeks’ style files.

Christina Milian, Brandi and Selita Ebanks went flirty, bold, and sparkly on us this weekend. All three ladies gave us a little leg and great smiles. Brandy’s look is my favorite because it gives such a modern twist on one of Michael Jackson’s signature styles.

Next up we have Naomi Harris, Melanie Fiona and Lala Anthony. Actress Naomi Harris gives us a sweet and innocent take on a all black look. Usually when people rock all black it is edgy or sexy, but this look is on a different spectrum and I love it. Melanie Fiona jazzed up her black and white jumpsuit with printed bracelets and a bold lip. She shows us how to incorporate color in our everyday style without being to overbearing. Last but not least, Lala showed some legs in a red-orange shirt dress, brown laceup peep toe booties and quilted chanel bag. I love color so I’m going with Lala in this set.

Zoe Saldana’s casual look is always on point. Her style can easily be translated for all women. Mel B. has new hair! She rocked a blue jumpsuit with brown accents. Perfect way to pair neutrals. Rihanna didn’t stray from her new look. She kept it edgy with a pair of leather pants, bold leather jacket, and cat-eye shades. Mel B. gets my vote this round. Her look has a touch of glam.

Finally we get to Christina Milian (again) and Meagan Good. Both ladies were at a party for the launch of the new chicken McBites at McDonalds. With these two we get glam and grit. Meagan Good’s look is gritty Cali while Christina spices things up with her accessories and leopard print heels.

Who rocked it for you this weekend?
