Happy Monday!

This past weekend was simply amazing. We had great weather and lots of sunshine. I was able to break out my bright colors and floral prints. Today however, it is very dreary. It seems like we are continuously getting the April showers that never really came in April. Because the weather isn’t so great today we have to live vicariously through some of our favorite celebs.

Lil Kim was spotted rocking neon print leggings, turquoise Guiseppe Zanotti bow heels, and she also did a little color blocking.

I am loving Cassie in this Salvatore Ferragamo printed jumpsuit. The colors are bold and I love how the belt accentuates her waist. The white sandals also adds a great touch and completes the look.

Jada Pinkett Smith has been in promo mode for Madagascar 3 and has been flawless. This Atelier Versace gown is amazing. What I love most about this look is the gold hardware but the color is just amazing on her.

Last but not least Katerina Graham rounds up the crew in a floral and tiger print dress. She looked great . The red lip was also a nice touch

Who rocked your favorite look?

My vote is for Cassie. I can definitely see me pulling off this look.

Can you say gorgeous? Cassie looked amazing last night at the Carol’s Daughter event. She is definitely a true beauty. I love the web details on the back of her dress and her hair looks phenomenal.

Are you feeling Cassie’s look?

Last night at the Sephora in Herald Square, Carol’s Daughter founder, Lisa Price was joined by Mary J. Blige, Cassie, Solange, and Selita Ebanks for the launch of their new hair products from the Monoi line.  The line of products include a shampoo, conditioner, and mask that strengthens and repairs hair, reducing breakage by an estimated 95%

Check out a few photos from the event

“What we’re doing now is moving into a polyethnic space. We want to be the first beauty brand that truly captures the beauty of the tapestry of skin types in America. When I say polyethnic, I mean women who are made up of several ethnicities. If you ask them what they are, they’re going to use a lot of different words to describe themselves. That’s in line with the Census data coming out — people are checking much more than two boxes. We believe we’ve put together a shoot that celebrates many different ethnicities, to become a mirror of what America’s really becoming.[…]“They will serve as cultural ambassadors in bringing forth this acceptance that the definition of beauty is now colorless. There are no longer boxes of white, black, Latina, Asian. More and more women are checking the other box, they share the vision and embody the messaging in their attitude, appearance, projects and core values.”

Many women on other blogs are pretty upset with this new campaign because it does not truly speak to diversity. Cassie, Selita, and Solange may have different hair types and ethnic backgrounds, but they do favor each other in regards to skin complexion. Many feel this campaign does not speak to diversity because being black comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors and that is not represented in the campaign. Yes Mary J. Blige and Jada Pinkett Smith are both still beauty ambassadors, but there needs to be more representation of darker skinned African-American women being in the fore front. People like Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union, Jessica White, Amber Riley, Estelle, and Tika Sumpter could have easily been picked for this campaign as well. Let’s just pray that one day more shades of black are equally represented.

Cassie and Amber Rose along with Lil Wayne and Baby helped Nicki Minaj celebrate her 26th birthday in Vegas a few days ago. It has been reported that Nicki’s catsuit took 5 people over 200 hours to make using 4,000 swarovski crystals. That is a lot of time, money and effort. Was it worth it?

Nicki is also rocking the Gianmarco Lorenzo crystal platform pumps (click here for the look for less post). So who rocked it? Who should go back to the drawing board?
