So gentleman, the unofficial start to the summer is upon us which also means since the weather changes so does your wardrobe. But what must remain is the mainstay of style. So whether you have packed up to head somewhere tropical and breezy like Miami, Cancun, Myrtle Beach,D.R. style incorporates  some board shorts or speedo.

In NYC if it doesn’t rain your going to BBQ hop like a rolling stone with no home here are some outfit ideas to keep the eyes on you and not the grill.

Camo shorts have been big for a couple of years now so why fix what isn’t broken. Pair with your favorite tee since they are the ultimate utility piece to your summer wardrobe. Of course the fitted cap / Jordan combo is a staple of mine so head into the closet and pull out your favorite pair.

Want to turn it up a bit, ditch the Jordans & fitted pull out your favorite pair of slim jeans and pair with a classic polo. For the shoe game a nice casual sneaker is the move. Some like boat shoes, I personally like a clean shoe which feature different materials like tweed or tumbled leather. Its a classic look updated for the times we are in.

Want to impress? Get well dressed in the lighter neutral hued pants. Usually dressed up with a blazer & tie or with a polished sweater but for the weather we expect dress them down with a denim or chambray short sleeve shirt. A nice pair of oxfords from designers like Cole Haan complete the look and keep you comfortable. Its the perfect finishing touch.

Here’s a few options but obviously there’s many more.. I’m only one man.

Summer, summer, summer time is playing in my head as I type this post. Memorial Day is next weekend and it seems like that is the unofficial start of the Summer Season, even though summer officially starts in June. I like to use Memorial Day as my “deadline” to make sure my body is in “shape.” Well I won’t make that deadline this year, unfortunately. So I have extended my deadline until the official start date of Summer. I have lost a significant amount of weight over the last few months, not by choice though. My weight tends to fluctuate and right now I am around the same weight I was two years ago.

It isn’t my weight that is my concern, my concern is really the lack of definition in certain areas. So I definitely need to tone. My target areas are abs, thighs, and butt. I think these are the target areas for most women.

One of my favorite magazines is Prevention. They always have great health tips and workout plans. So here are a few tips to get ready for the beach! Whether you will be wearing a bikin, tankini, monokini, or traditional one-piece, it is always a great idea to get in shape. Start now and say good bye to the cellulite, jiggly thighs, and the little tummy pouch.

Here is a preview of the Beach Body Workout by Selene Yager

Curl Down-Curl Up

(Tones abs)

A. Sit with legs bent, feet flat on ground, and arms extended at chest  height. Lift breastbone to sit tall.

B. Using abs for control, slowly roll down one vertebra at a time,  allowing spine  to curve naturally and arms to come overhead as you lie back onto the ground.  Slowly curl back up. Do 8 reps.

Extensions

(Firms lower back and glutes)

A. Lie facedown with hands at sides. Keeping head and neck in straight  line, lift chest 2 to 4 inches off ground. Hips and tops of feet should stay  anchored. Hold for two breaths, then slowly lower. Do 8 reps.

B. With toes pointed, contract glutes and hamstrings and lift and  extend both legs 6 to 12 inches off ground. Hold for two breaths, then slowly  lower. Do 8 reps.
