What I Wore: Snakeskin Printed Pants…Really?

Yes I wore snakeskin printed pants and I love them. When I first purchased the pants almost everyone I told or showed were not convinced that I could make these pants work. I think I did pretty good! These pants are probably the most comfortable pair of pants that I own. The material is extremely soft and I love that they have wide legs. I also love the versatility as they can be worn as high waisted pants as well. These babies will get a few more wears before it is time to pack them away until next year, but I absolutely love them! They are by Jaclyn Smith for Kmart (yes Kmart ) and a variation of these pants are currently on sale for $7.99, marked down from their $24.99 price tag (which is still inexpensive). Click here to purchase. Wear Now and Later: Casual Ankle Boots

I guess you can now call this transitional period “Pre Fall” and so, depending where you are located, you can break out some of your fall pieces. Today in New York it is a little cool and today would be a perfect day to rock a pair of casual ankle boots with a pair of skinny jeans rolled up at the ankle or if you want a pair of shorts. I am not big on wearing boots during the dog days of summer, actually I am not a fan of this look at all, but some people love it. If the temperature is low, no humidity, and there is a nice breeze then the choices I have below are perfect for you.

With pre-fall transitional pieces you want to make sure you can blend between the seasons. So avoid looks with fur, yes I said fur! I think fur is for the late fall and winter, maybe even early spring, but you should keep the fur away until there is a real chill. Suede and leather are definitely acceptable when you want to try pre-fall looks. Go for a style that is sleek rather than chunky and you are good to go!

In Other News: NeNe Leakes for Shoe Dazzle, Azealia Banks for MAC, and NYLON Mag x OCC Cosmetics

Happy Tuesday everyone! A lot has been going on in the fashion and beauty worlds lately. There have been collaborations galore! So let’s jump right in to all of the hot new collaborations in fashion and beauty.

First off, RHOA star NeNe Leakes unveiled her new shoe “The Nethia” through online shoe boutique Shoe Dazzle. If you aren’t familiar with Shoe Dazzle, you sign up and fill out a questionnaire based on your style preferences and then each month a selection of shoes are sent to your online boutique. Then you are able to choose what shoes you want to purchase for the month. NeNe’s shoe, The Nethia, will retail for $39.99 (like all of the other shoe dazzle shoes). It is a black and gold strappy platform heel. The straps are black lace and the platform and heel are gold along with a front zipper.

Rapper Azealia Banks has been making a lot of noise in the fashion world having collaborated with Alexander Wang. Although she is now starting to reach more of a mainstream audience, she is lining up some amazing deals. In today’s society people love those who are raw and uncut and that is definitely Azealia. She is now taking her talents over to the beauty industry and is teaming up with M.A.C. Cosmetics. September 5, 2012, the eve of Fashion’s Night Out, you will be able to purchase her lipstick “Yung Rupunxel” which is the name of her alter ego, online or in-stores for $15. The shade is described as a deep plum which is one of Banks’ signature lip colors. M.A.C. is no stranger to teaming up with female rappers. They have collaborated with Lil Kim for Viva Glam and also Nicki Minaj on her signature Pink Friday lipstick.

Last but not least Nylon Magazine has teamed up with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics to create the “Nylon” lip tar, a bubble gum pink with a neon twist. OCC is one of my favorite cosmetic brands and their lip tars are AMAZING. A little definitely goes a long way with lip tars.
