OCC Makeup

One of our favorite makeup brands, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) has launched their Spring 2014 line of liptars. The collection “Plastic Passion” features Deven Green and consists of 6 liptars. The collection is available on Sephora.com and OCCMakeup.com and will be available in Sephora on February 28, 2014. It also features nail lacquers and lip pencils.

For Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Spring 2014 is not the season to play it safe! Gone are the demure pastels and flirty palette of seasons past, replaced instead by hyper- saturated hues and technicolor textures. OCC’s PLASTIC PASSION collection delivers its most vibrant lineup of Lip Tar shades to date, in both our Matte and Metallic textures. Lips are lacquered in shades that are bold beyond belief. For Spring, excess is everything! Featuring the legendary DEVEN GREEN as the faces of PLASTIC PASSION!

Since Fall is officially here I think it is time that we get into some hot beauty purchases for this season!

It’s no surprise that Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is a fan favorite of many makeup artists, beauty gurus, and makeup lovers, me included. The quality of the product is impeccable and it’s 100% Vegan. The lip tars and pigments last all day and the colors are bold and bright, so you will definitely be the center of attention.

For Fall 2013 they recently launched Modern Craft with modern cabaret performer Calpernia Adams as the face of this collections. The collection was inspired by 1920s Berlin and will have you wanting to go back in time.

The collection features 6 new lip tars

Role Play (Metallic), Anita (Matte), Black Metal Dahlia (Metallic) Dekadent (Stained Gloss), Sebastian (Matte), and Mein Herr (Stained Gloss)

At the event with Calpernia Adams in my gift bag was all 6 lip tars and all 6 colour concentrates. I’ve only worn the stained lip gloss, but now that fall is here, I can dip into the other colors.

This past Friday I had the opportunity to attend the press preview for OCC Cosmetics Spring/Summer 2012 Collection “The Garden.”  I was first introduced to OCC by my friend Kim and now I am a huge fan of OCC for a number of reasons:

  1. All of their products are 100% Vegan and also animal-cruelty free
  2. All of the products are heavily pigmented so a little goes a long way
  3. Reasonably priced for high quality products
  4. Long lasting staying power of the products, especially the lip tars

The newest collection is very unexpected for spring. One would think with spring there would be lots of pinks and rose colors, but what OCC did was use the garden as inspiration and not only focus on the typical floral appeal. Take a look at some photos and the press release with product details and price points.

The Garden Collection Below with swatches

Here I am playing around with a few colors

I purchased the pink lip tar which is not part of the spring collection, but it is called Pretty Boy. I was convinced by many of the attendees to try on the blue liptar Rx because it matched my pants. Everyone loved it! Some people were calling me Nicki Minaj which I thought was funny. I actually kept the blue liptar on for the rest of the evening. So many people stared and I just smiled. I guess it’s not everyday that you see someone with blue lips walking the street. The owner David Klasfeld said it looked amazing and actually gave me the liptar as a gift, which I thought was so kind.

Here I am with the founder David Klasfeld

Lastly, there was a live demonstration of how to use some of the products. Check out the gorgeous model

Press Release

Introducing The Garden, OCC’s newest colour collection for Spring / Summer 2012! Spring has sprung at OCC and hidden among the lilacs and pansies are different shades of floral. Inspired not by garden variety roses but psychotropic and poisonous plants, this collection turns traditional spring pastels upside down, injecting them with hallucinatory notes of nearly-neon vibrancy. Mixed in are more subtle neutral lip shades, meant to be paired with a dizzying flash of color on the eyes, in this garden of earthly (and unearthly) delights.

Yesterday I went to IMATS and made quite a few purchases. I didn’t go over my budget of $100 which was really awesome. I will have my full IMATS hall later on in the week. While there, I went to about every cosmetic table with lip gloss or lip stick. I was searching for the perfect colors for spring and summer. If this was a few years ago, I would be fine with just a tinted gloss, but now I am really starting to embrace lip stick and glosses with great pigments.

I purchased items from Stila and OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics), and these colors completed my spring/summer lip color arsenal along with a few lippies from Inglot. Take a look at the colors up close with swatches.
