animal print

For some women, animal print is an acquired taste. Either you love it or hate, and there is rarely any type of in between. This type of print whether it is leopard, cheetah, tiger, zebra, or giraffe, can be overwhelming if taken in “large doses.” So many people opt for more subtle ways to introduce this look in to their current wardrobe. They may start with a scarf, a pair of gloves, a handbag, or even jewelry.

I am an avid animal print advocate lol. I have shoes, bags, jewelry, tops, coats and I am on the hunt for the perfect pair of animal print pants. I do not shy away from the opportunity to bring out my inner feline. If you have some reservations about incorporating animal print in to your wardrobe, one way that I encourage women to incorporate this look is with their shoes. Whether you want to try flats, pumps, platforms, wedges, or boots, any shoe with animal print will surely stand out and be the focal point of the outfit. Below you will find animal print shoes of all styles and budgets. Enjoy and happy shopping!

Hello my loves! I hope you all are having a fabulous summer. It is not totally over yet, we still have a few weeks left of fun in the sun, but if you hit any of your local malls or retail stores, you will see huge clearance and sale signs because it is time to get rid of the summer merchandise and usher in new items for the fall. So my previous post focused on the Fall Trends that you can expect for 2012 but now it is time to get more in depth with a few of the trends.

One of my favorite trends this season is prints, but not just for blouses and dresses, pants as well. I have a few pairs of printed pants, but the material is incredibly thin for all Fall/Winter. One pair I can easily transition, because of the color, by pairing them with opaque tights, but the others, not so much.

The key to wearing printed pants is to pair them with a solid color top for a clean look. You can take your look up a notch by mixing prints. Make sure the prints have complimentary colors. That is key! For other accessories try a boyfriend blazer for more sophistication, or a denim jacket for a casual feel.

Here are some great options for printed pants

Will you partake in this trend?

Happy Monday my loves!

I know I have been MIA for a little, but I am back. I took a little vacation after my event last week, but Camilla did a great job holding down the fort! So let’s get right to business and see who rocked this weekend’s style files!

  • Taraji P. Henson looked youthful and fresh faced in this simple white dress.
  • Garcelle Beauvais rocked a black trench dress and added a little spice with a turquoise clutch and zebra print shoes
  • Jada Pinkett Smith looked like a super momma in this fiery tribal print dress
  • Lala kept it classy in a blue and white printed dress and black ankle strap shoes

  • Aisha Tyler’s metallic mini paired with a white blouse screams rocker chic. The mini adds a little edge to the outfit.
  • Tamia has been on her A game lately. She paired a see through animal print blouse with a bold lemon/lime skirt. It seems like Nene took a few notes on Tamia’s look with a reverse ensemble
  • Letoya Luckett’s cute casual look rounds out this weekend’s top looks. You can never go wrong with skinny jeans, white blouse, and a pair of hot pumps.

Who rocked it this weekend? My vote is for Jada Pinkett Smith. That dress is fire!

This has been an interesting year when it came to fashion. There were so many trends that everyone loved, and quite a few that many hated. Here are a few of the trends that most celebs and everyday fashionistas like yourselves rocked during 2011.

Maxi Skirts

The look of the maxi skirt was originally very boho chic, but in 2011 the glam factor was definitely added. What I love most about maxi skirts are their low maintenance and high functionality. These skirts can be dressed up and paired with heels, or worn with your favorite t-shirt and gladiator sandals.

Animal Print

I wouldn’t call animal prints trendy, but many fashion gurus believe it is. I personally believe that animal prints are classic and timeless, but I’m just a lil ol’ fashion blogger. Anyway animal print made its way to many of our favorite celebs in the forms of jackets, dresses, skirts, tops, pants (thanks Lil’ Wayne), and of course shoes. I must say my animal print collection has expanded from my little zebra print cardigan and leopard print bodycon skirt tremendously.

Cut-out Dresses

Only the physically fit and sexy should have partaken in this trend. I wouldn’t dare put on a cut-out dress because of my extra baggage, so I stayed away from it lol. Celebs like Ciara wore cut-out dresses and had us wanting to run to our nearest gym for a membership! When done the proper way it is sexy, yet sophisticated.

Sky High Platforms

Christian Louboutin is known for exotic heels, but his Daffodil’s had everyone on edge. The sky high hidden platform looked a bit intimidating to the average eye, but fashionista’s all over made this their number one pick. Along with Christian Louboutin, Jessica Simpson and Jeffrey Campbell made a lot of noise with the Dany Platform (JS) and the Lita’s (JC). When I saw those shoes in various stores I was like who would wear those, but to my surprise they were very comfortable and easy to walk in. I didn’t want to jump on the Dany and Lita bandwagon because they so weren’t my style and I felt like I was only buying them because every other fashion blogger had them so I strayed away. Anyway this was the year of the sky high heel and it looks like 2012’s top trend won’t have a heel at all.

I think you would all agree when I say that color-blocking had to be the biggest trend of 2011. I mean every where you looked from young to old, famous or not, everyone was rocking this trend. It was definitely a show stopper. When rocking this trend you felt bold and beautiful. This had to be my favorite trend of the year.

What was your favorite trend?

So yesterday after work, I had to run a few errands and walked past a store and these booties caught my eye. I have been on a real leopard kick latel. Most most recent purchases have been leopard print (these booties, pumps, and a scarf). I went in tried on the booties and fell in love, but then started to get cold feet. Anyway, I asked what the return policy was before I handed the sales associate my debit card. I was pleased with the amount of time I had to return the booties so now I am coming to you.
