Not the RedHots candy. I absouletly hate these and also Big Red or any cinnamon flavored candy or gum. Candy should be sweet not hot and spicy…anyway make to the matter at hand

redhots

I am referring to RED HOT BLAZERS! I was so inspired by Amerie’s recent photo shoot with complex magazine that I went looking for some red blazers/jackets:

The red blazer  is definitely a statement piece and will turn many heads. If worn correctly. Don’t over accessorize. Let the jacket be the focus point. Pair with black or dark denim skinny jeans (even distressed) Killer pumps…black and white snakeskin is an option, an all black or grey bootie or over the knee boot. White tee or tank and layer on the chains.

fur

I was on Essence.com yesterday and saw this pic and immediatly fell in love with the fur vest! I love how it is paired with fuschia dress and boots. The vest gives the look a little bit of an edge. I was in Target the other day and saw some decent fur vests. You have to be careful with the color of the fur and the texture/feel of the fur also. You don’t want to stand near someone and if they brush up against you, they start to itch. You want to be careful with the color and length also because if it is the wrong color or length you will be walking around looking like an endangered species.

Here are a few vests that I like…they are all faux fur so no need to call PETA

Juicy Couture Faux Coyote Fur Vest $98 at Nordstrom

Arden B. $78

fur5

Michael Kors Faux Coyote Fur Vest

Pair the vests with basics like a white t-shirt, black t-shirt, turtleneck, or crewneck.

Wear with a black leather mini and some killer booties or studded heels

You can also keep it simple and pair the vest and tee with a pair of skinnys, killer bag and heels (booties or  a pump)

This fall everything from sequins, to studs, to spikes will adorn our favorite garments and accessories. One trend that was featured on HGB before for the Spring, is sticking around for the Fall season as well. That trend is the Zipper Effect.

zipper_dress

Whether used to make a statement on a dress (like the picture above) or on handbags, shoes, dresses, and other accessories, the use of zippers isn’t only to keep your pants or your jackets closed. Beyonce was seen yesterday with Hubby Hov at the Madison Square Garden press conference in a 3.1 Phillip Lim Ruffled Zipper Skirt (about$650 at Barneys) with a black tank and she looked GOOD.

Zippers

The skirt was the statement piece as with all zipper pieces. Please do not wear zipper inspired clothing from head to toe…you might zip one of your body parts like this guy

Who does this? Why? Anyway here are a few pieces that you can incorporate into your wardrobe this Fall
