Ashley Madekwe of Revenge SLAYED this look in all plaid and white pumps. She attended the TopShop event in California and showed out. ashley madekwePlaid is a huge trend this season. Whether you rock a full suit, or pair separates with solids, or you mix prints, you can’t go wrong with this trend like Ashley. I love how she paired the look with white pumps to compliment the subtle white lines. I need this in my closet ASAP.

Here are some plaid options from TopShop

Usually in the fall and winter I rarely wear skirts and dresses. The I’ll do is throw on a sweater dress, tights, and knee boots and keep it moving. I’m trying to break that habit by purchasing more skirts and dresses in heavier fabrics for the fall and winter and that brings me to the quilted skirt.

I remember when I was in elementary school my mom made my brother, sister, and I take our school picture together. I was in 3rd grade and I wore a yellow/gold quilted skirt with a purple shirt with gold buttons. My sister wore the same skirt but with a red shirt and my brother had on some type of shirt to compliment our colors. We looked cute (too bad I don’t have a picture to confirm this) take my word for it lol. We didn’t call them quilted skirts back then, they were called popcorn skirts, but you get the idea.

I felt a little nostalgic as I was looking through my September issue of InStyle Magazine so I had to hunt down some modern options of what I once wore back in elementary school. Here are my picks

Independence Day is quickly approaching and I am sure that many of you will be hitting the beach, pools, or a family barbecue. This day is pretty low key for many people. It usually involves lots of sun (if the weather is cooperating) food, and drinks. Check out these options for a great outfit for the fourth of July!

Here is a curated collection of traditional red, white, and blue piece. You can show your true patriotic spirit without stars and stripes! I love a graphic print t-shirt and I’ve seen countless tops in stores like Forever 21 if you are looking to buy an expensive top. I’ve always wanted a pair of American Flag shorts, but the types that I have found are a little TOO short. I can’t expose the goods like that lol.

Crop Tops and High-Waist Skirts

With Spring here and summer right around the corner, we need just need to add a few pieces to help maximize our wardrobe and if you are lacking crop tops or high-waist skirts, you may want to check out the options below.

Many people shy away from crop tops because of their figure. I once did as well because i don’t feel like I had a “crop top friendly” belly, but with a pair of high-waist shorts or pants, or a high-waist skirts they are now appropriate for those without flat stomachs (yayyyy).

It is no secret that I love a bold print. Not only do I love a bold print, I also love a sexy, yet sophisticated style of skirt. So when I saw this Multi Aztec Print Tube Skirt from Top Shop I was in love!

Isn’t she lovely! I love the bold pattern and colors. I like the fact that the skirt is mainly black, but the orange, turquoise, and teal are what makes this print pop. Also the skirt is only $44

Check out this look I created with the skirt.
