A few  weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the TJ Maxx and Marshalls Holiday Gift Giving event with personal shoppers Joe Lupo and Jesse Garza, the founders of the luxury lifestyle consulting firm Visual Therapy. The event consisted of various gifting tables with items for the entire family that can be purchased at TJ Maxx and Marshalls at a fraction of the cost.

I had an opportunity to speak one-on-one with Joe Lupo to get help on what to buy the person who has everything, what to buy for the men in your life, and also how to be the best gift giver this season. Take a look at some tips below from Joe Lupo and also some great gift ideas from TJ Maxx and Marshalls

What steps should I take when buying gifts for my family and friends? Start off with making a list of the people’s names. Then next to their names write their style type (trendy, classic, bohemian, etc.). Next, write a few words that describe their personality, and finally write down their interests. Now you have a starting point! You can look for gifts according to their style type, personality, or interests.

What to buy the person who has everything? Well generally this applies to most women, but there are some men who are hard to shop for as well. Joe Lupo suggests that you get this person some type of spa treatment. Both men and women can always use a great facial and massage, so purchase different treatments for them which will allow them to be pampered. This is better than buying another gift that they probably won’t use.

What do you buy the men in your life this holiday season? Joe suggests adding a pop of color to his wardrobe. Whether he is your father, brother, or significant other, a tie, sweater, or even scarf in a nice shade of blue. Joe also suggests buying the guys in your life some great linen. Buy some nice sheets with a high thread count and they will be sleeping like a baby.

What about presentation? Presentation is everything when it comes to holiday gift gifting. Put thought in to the wrapping of the gift because it says a lot as well. Add little touches of your personality or the personality of the person wig us receiving the gift. If they like nature, add little twigs to the presentation.

TJ Maxx and Marshalls has all of your needs this holiday season. Whether you want to buy a gift for your home, your kids, or your mom, check out both stores even for the cutest little stocking stuffers for the entire family.

For many of us, casual Fridays and casual summers come to an end after Labor Day. We are forced (to a certain extent) to wear more conservative/traditional things to work. Nowadays people have created this fine line with what is appropriate to wear to a place of employment. If there are no rules, by all means go and have fun, but for most people there is a dress code or at least a decency policy that many have thrown out of the window. For this look I wore an XOXO skirt from Macy’s, tank from H&M, and a jacket from Sears  (all items purchased eons ago, maybe not eons, but none of these items are in stores 🙁 )

The look is semi business casual, but the skirt is a little too tight in the hips and derrière, hence all of the bunching. I would never wear this to my place of employment. The tank, jacket, and shoes yes! The skirt, maybe if about 5 lbs magically disappeared, which would be my hips and butt, and that is not happening. The fit of the skirt would be better if it was a tad bit larger. Ladies, this is a perfect example of why fit is important!  You don’t want to constantly have to pull and tug at your clothing. So RIP to this skirt. You were loved by many!

Something must have been really funny as I was trying to run out of the middle of the street lol

So for today’s look I had to bring out one of my favorite things to wear; boyfriend jeans. Sadly, this is my only pair so I don’t wear them as often as I would like. I purchased these about two years ago from New York and Company and every pair that I have tried on since then has failed in comparison. Although they fit me a little more snug than they did last year or the year before that, I still love them! Yes I know I am extremely excited over a pair of jeans. This is how I used to be with my Joe’s Jeans back in the day. Those jeans were made for my body. I had about 7 pairs, then I gained weight and it was bye bye to Joe’s.

Anyway, I paired my New York and Company boyfriend jeans with my “Love, Peace, Faith, Hope, Jesus” tank from Forever 21 and a pair of black and cream tribal sandals from Bamboo via TJ Maxx.

I really went down the slide after. It was so much fun lol

I saw a bug…I was focused lol

This is what the world needs!

Do you guys love boyfriend jeans as much as I do?
