I can’t believe it is Thanksgiving already! It feels like it was just July and now I’m just trying to stay warm. Since it is Thanksgiving and most people will be spending time with their loved ones (others will be in stores shopping) it is only right that I curate (makes my job sound fancy) a few pieces that you can rock for Thanksgiving dinner. Check out my previous posts on this very topic click here and here

Check out the looks I created below

Look #1 The Bulge Friendly Skater Dress– I rocked a skater dress last year and I think I may do the same this year. I was comfortable and cute. What more could you ask for.

Thanksgiving 2013

Look #2 Sporty Chic Sweatshirts and Joggers– I am in love with sweatshirts this year and I love how versatile they are. You can rock a sweatshirt with skinnies, skirts, shorts, and a cute heel or even jeans and riding boots. The sweatshirts versatility is perfect for Thanksgiving! Find one that is embellished for an instant touch of glam. I went with a printed sweatshirt and black joggers (fancy sweatpants) with an ankle bootie to dress up the look. This boots can be easily switched for something flat for more comfort.

Thanksgiving 2013 Look #2

Look #3 The Hostess. Each year I try to set the hostess’ look apart from all of the others. I know realistically the person that is hosting is running around the house like a crazy woman (or man), but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to look fabulous doing it. So I paired an embellished top with a printed pencil skirt. In this look you have lots of prints and textures. None of the pieces are overpowering each other. They work well as a unit and separately when paired with other items.

Thanksgiving 2013 Look #3

Which look would you rock?

This week Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, and I for one am not stepping out of my house to enter not one crazy store (Maybe BJs) my fingers will do the walking online. This is the beginning of the holiday shopping season so get to those deals while they last and while supplies are available. While some people shop all year round for the holidays, majority of the people, including myself, like to procrastinate. So for your viewing pleasure gentlemen , and ladies for your gentleman, I have procured some fashion black friday deals that can keep your style hot and your savings ice cold.

Crooks & Castles

If you can take anything away from my posts is that this has to be the hottest underground line pushing out some of the freshest tees and quality jackets. Wouldn’t be me if I didn’t set you up with some heat for your feet. Dunks at $59! Major percentage off if you spend $120! I don’t think I own a shoe that retails less than that. Make sure you support my peoples at Premier.

This year has gone by extremely fast. I can’t believe that it is almost over. Can you believe that it is Thanksgiving already?!?!? This is insane, but as always I have created some amazing looks that will have all eyes on you and not just the food.

Look #1: The Hostess

The Hostess

For this look I wanted something dressy if you were hosting a formal dinner. So I paired a raspberry colored long sleeve dress with black and gold accents. As the hostess you must greet your guest and make sure everyone is having a great time so you should look good doing it.

Look #2: Meet the Parents

Casual Chic

I created this look if you are going with your significant other to meet his family/parents for the very first time. You do not want to seem like you are trying to hard so a nice pair of black trousers with a bold top (hence the structured sleeves) a vest to add some personality, and of course a printed shoe. The shoes will definitely be a conversation piece. Wear neutral makeup to enhance your natural beauty, and gold accessories for a little bling.

Look #3: Family Fun

A Pop of Color goes a long way

I paired a simple long sleeve shift dress with colored tights and riding boots if you are just having dinner with family and friends. The look is stylish and very comfortable. So if your family plays a lot of games you won’t be out of place. Don’t worry, you can still play Taboo and charades and not feel uncomfortable.

Stay tuned later this week to see the look I rocked for Thanksgiving. I hope these suggestions help you put together a fabulous outfit!

So its one of my favorite times of the year again: THANKSGIVING! I love the meaning of the holiday because it is all about giving. The spirit of generosity should not be confined to one day, it should be year round, but for some it is so lets just make the best of it.

Besides this time being about the spirit of giving, it is also about spending time with family, friends, and eating great food! I told my cousin who is the family chef that I’m looking forward to some fried turkey, mac and cheese, potato salad, collard greens, sweet potato pie…I’ll stop there lol. So here are my suggestions for looking stylish, feeling comfortable, and camoflaging the thanksgiving food belly

1. Comfort is key! Wear things that stretch

  • Leggings
  • Tights

Choose a funky design or pattern or stick with the basic colors

Republic $27

Mod Cloth Stripe for Success Tights $35

2. So now that we are in our comfort zone with leggings/tights we need to pair them with something that is roomy to hide the bulge

  • Oversized or belted cardigans and sweaters
  • Ruffled Tunics

Anything large that gives your midsection enough room for expansion is key

Yes Style $42

Old Navy Jet Sweater Cardigan $45

Dorothy Perkins Animal Print Ruffled Tunic $50

This thanksgiving I’ll probably wear one of my many sweater dresses (I have more than enough to choose from) So here are some options for the all-in-one look

Alloy Megan Dolman Sweater Dress $42

Yes Style Knit Sweater Dress $44

Jane Norman Sweater Dress $42

As for the footwear, take it simple 5-inch pumps is a bit much for grandma’s kitchen. Try a cute pair of embellished ballet flats, riding boots, flat over the knee boots, or a cute lace up or wedge bootie. Anything over 3 inches may cause a serious side-eye.

Happy Eating!
