Do you know where I will be on September 15, 2013 at 8am? If you guessed Target you are absolutely correct. The highly anticipated collection with Phillip Lim will be available in stores and online. I usually don’t shop these collections the day of, but this is a different situation. This will be my 3rd time (I’ve purchased from the Jason Wu Collection and Prabal Gurung Collection) and I have been pleased with everything.

Check out some of my favorite looks from the up coming collection

The collection, separated into three sections (morning, noon and night) is meant to be an assortment of lasting, wearable wardrobe staples for someone on the go. It melds Target’s mission–to fulfill the everyday needs of the masses–with Lim’s signature aesthetic, to some pretty perfect results. -Fashionista.com

I’m a sucker for prints so the boom sweatshirt will be mine as well as the blouse and skirt combo. These colors are perfect for fall. I love how the sweat pants were styled. The flats and oversized bag takes it from lazy to luxe

I would wear all of these looks to work. I love floral print but mainly wear it during the spring and summer. These looks show how you can wear florals all year round. The green/blue dress is so my style. I love the pop of color on the sleeves.

I’m not big on wearing suits, but the bottom left pic is so chic. I also love the leather moto jacket with the loose fitting blouse. Leather (faux or real) toughens up the most feminine and sophisticated looks so it is a staple in your wardrobe.

Guys I didn’t forget about you!

I love the sporty feel of the men’s wear, but I also love how it can be more tailored too. A well dressed man can go from the streets to the board room and this collection will help you guys do that.

This collection is modern, feminine, and sophisticated for women and super cool, tailored, and stylish for the men.

I can’t wait!

Will you be shopping this collection? I plan on spending quite a few dollars here lol

Happy Wednesday (or whatever day it is when you read this)!

I’m here with an outfit post featuring some oldies but goodies. I paired a bold printed skirt with a denim shirt, gold accessories and my new favorite shoes (I have them in brown as well). I am all about shopping your closet and getting the most use out of what you own. So I went in to the archives of my closet to find one of my favorite skirts that I purchased 2-3 years ago. I think a skirt like this is pretty much timeless. It goes with just about anything because of all of the colors and it can be dressed up or dressed down, which is always a plus. Take a closer look at my latest “What I Wore” post.

Yesterday I decided to try my luck and head to Target to see if I would be able to snag a few pieces from the highly anticipated Prabal Gurung collection. I loved the bright and vibrant colors from the collection as well as the prints. I decided to get to Target at 8am when it first opened. To my surprise, there was a small line outside (about 10 women). I waited in my car until they opened since the line was so short. As the gate began to rise the women literally ran underneath to run to the collection. I just shook my head in disbelief because there was only 10 people online. The Target that I went to (the location won’t be revealed lol) was practically empty. Some women were grabbing everything and just throwing it in their carts. I refused to act like an animal over clothes, especially since there was enough for everyone. Long story short I tried on about 15 items and left with four.

I had my eye on all of the dresses but these two looked the best, especially the white! You can never go wrong with peplum and pointy toe heels are making a huge comeback. The print on the shoe makes it so versatile and I will be able to wear them with practically anything. I can’t for the spring.

Did you shop the collection? What did you get?

On Saturday I started celebrating my birthday early! October 2nd is the big day, but I couldn’t wait to celebrate. I started the celebration with brunch with a few of my friends at one of my favorite brunch spots. Sunday morning  my good friend from high school and her bf took me to breakfast, and Sunday night I had dinner with my siblings and 2 friends before we all headed over to the Barclays Center for Jay-Z’s concert. Guess what, the celebration doesn’t stop there! I’ll have updates throughout the week with my birthday festivities.

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my “All Black Everything” outfit. I was going for a trendy look so I wore leather shorts, lace top with black tank underneath, patterned tights, and wedge sneakers. Everything was super trendy, but I guess I gave off Sex Kitten instead lol. Those were not my intentions. I got SOOOO many stares. I didn’t think the outfit was as scandalous as people made it seem lol. It was definitely weird, maybe it was the red lip, who knows, but I still had a great time none the less. Outfit details in the caption.

Lace Top: Charlotte Russe, Camisole: Forever 21, Leather Shorts and Tights Target, Wedge Sneakers: Rouge

For brunch, I was reluctant to concede to the fall temperatures so I wore a shirt dress without tights and my burgundy wingtip heels. I should have put on tights, it was definitely a little chilly, but next time I wear this dress it will be with tights.

The amazing food!

So last week I did some online shopping for the Fall. I didn’t plan on shopping so early, I like to wait until the last week of August, but I tend to buy a few things here and there. I recently bought two pairs of boots that I fell in love with. I haven’t been this excited over boots in a very long time. When they were delivered yesterday, I walked around my house with each pair on for about an hour. They both were so comfortable that I didn’t want to take them off lol (weird I know). So here are the boots that I recently purchased.

The Kapri boots were actually sold out but my research skills are extraordinary so I was able to find them on a different site. I did not hesitate to order these boots. There was a pair of Steve Madden shoes that I wanted and they were on sale for $60. I said I’ll order them in the morning and they were no longer on sale. I love how the boot folds over and I fell in love with the zipper detail. I will probably wear the heck out of these boots since they are so versatile. They can be worn with skirts, dresses or jeans. I can’t wait! These boots retail for $34.99. They have a cushion on the inside which makes them super comfortable.

The Kately boots are genuine suede. I love that they are blue. Even though the shade of blue is pretty light I am still going to wear these in the fall. I started putting looks together for these boots already too. What was even better was the price. These boots were on sale for $12.24. I have a tan pair similar to this so I knew they would look good. I did not hesitate to purchase these either.

Here are pics of the boots in action

Both pairs of boots were purchased from Target.

Have you started making any purchases for the fall yet?
