Angela Simmons is definitely one of my favorite fashionistas, and she has really developed a unique sense of style. The other day on Instagram she posted a pic of her at the beach in this AMAZING yellow two-piece cut out swimsuit. I immediately started searching and came across Andrea Iyamah Swimwear.

About Andrea Iyamah Swimwear

Andrea Iyamah was founded in March 2011. Our designs range from elaborate to simple. Unafraid to use color each piece tells a story with bright piercing colors.
Angela was also spotted rocking a more ethnic print two piece by the designer as well.

Next week the pools and beaches will officially be open to the public, so you know what that means? You need the perfect swimsuit. I am partial to wearing two-pieces ,but lately I have been seeing some amazing monokinis. When it comes to picking the right swimsuit you need to know your body type. If you are top heavy you need more coverage up top so instead of going for the triangle bikini top go for something that provides a little more coverage, unless you don’t mind having the girls hang out.For those with the athletic body shape, try a bottom with ruffles or a plain bikini to create the illusion of curves. Avoid boy shorts at all times! If you have a little extra in the middle look for a high waisted bottom and also a swimsuit that controls the tummy.

I love buying separates because I have the option of mixing and matching. So pair a striped top with a leopard print bottom, or a paisley top with a polka dot bottom. When it comes to mixing prints stay with in the same color family or find colors that compliment each other like blue/orange, purple/pink, blue/yellow, green/pink, etc. If you are not ready to mix prints well pair a printed top with a solid bottom or vicaversa. Remember swimsuits do not have to be traditional or match so have fun with your look.

When it comes to rocking a coverup, leave the extra large white t-shirt at home! There are so many options from sarongs, to crochet tops, to sheer or printed caftans, and even a light weight tunic can work.

There are tons of tips and trick to follow but here are some hot options for swimwear

Summer is fast approaching and with that comes SWIMSUIT SEASON!!!!  Are we excited yet??? *cue the sarcasm*

For most women it’s hard to find the “perfect” swimsuit. (Perfect swimsuit:  A suit that we actually like, is flattering to our body and we feel sexy yet comfortable in. :))

The “finding of the swimsuit” is probably the hardest part (yes, harder then actually strutting around the beach with the suit on!) and can be really time consuming!

Here a few tips to finding the right suit for you:

– EMRACE YOUR CURVES!!! Don’t focus on what you hate about your body; focus on what you LOVE about your body (best features) – eg. A defined waist, long legs, a bigger bust, etc.

– FIT!  Make sure the swimsuit you choose is flattering to your body shape, make sure it is supportive and most importantly make sure it is YOUR size.  Most of us know what our body shape/type and size is and we know what looks good on our bodies.  Don’t let the swimsuit shopping intimidate you and make you forget all you know about dressing YOUR body – use the same “rules” (colors, cuts, likes, dislikes etc.) that you use to purchase everyday clothes when selecting your swimsuit.

– You must be comfortable in whatever suit you purchase.  If you are not comfortable in the suit you buy you will not be able to walk around comfortably and confidently (and you may even try to cover up with the dreaded t-shirt —– DON’T DO IT LADIES, A T-SHIRT IS NOT A REAL SWIMSUIT COVER UP!!!).  EXUDE CONFIDENCE!!!

If you feel comfortable purchasing a swimsuit online I’d highly suggest you do as there are many more options available (just make sure the retailer has a good return policy).

(Also ladies, please keep in mind that although a retailer may not advertise that they have plus sizes it doesn’t mean that some items cannot be found in your size.  If you see a bathing suit you love find out what size it goes up to and check the size chart on the website— also check the fabric as most bathing suits are very stretchy and you may be able to go down in size. )

There are so many BOLD choices this season ( I love the high-waisted bikinis most) which style will you be rockin’?

Rihanna rocked out at Coachella this weekend in a Agent Provocateur Zandy Denim Bikini. Rihanna knows she has a great body and is not afraid to show it off. She remixed the suit by cutting off the straps and rocking the bra as a bandeau. This bikini retails for $490. The bikini top is $270 and the bottom is $220.  Check out the details

Zandy Bikini Bra

Channel ’70s poster-girl Daisy Duke in this Zandy denim-look bikini top. The lightly padded and underwired cups are styled like jeans pockets with fold-over tops and popper and button details. The halter straps are removable, offering you an alternative strapless silhouette and tan-line free shoulders. The Zandy bikini top is made in soft stretch cotton.

Zandy Bikini Brief

Tiny denim shorts were Daisy Duke’s style signature and the low-slung, Zandy bikini shorts are a tribute to the ’70s poster-girl. They feature authentic jeans styling, such as a lace-up and button fly, belt loops and a two-tone effect pocket and trim. The back also has a pocket detail and an embroidered orange Agent Provocateur motif. The Zandy shorts are made in soft stretch cotton.

I love the 70s inspired look. You will definitely stand out at the beach with this swimsuit.
