Rihanna wowed everyone on the Red Carpet with this Armani dress which she helped design. The dress is gorgeous and she looks great in it. Of course she would make everyone’s best dressed list. Take a look at some hits and misses. From the Grammy’s last night.

Last Saturday I, along with hundreds of other people including my friend Shelly, attended the Heineken Inspire concert featuring J. Cole, Wale, DJ D-Nice, and the surprise guest, the Teflon Don himself, Rick Ross. I did not know what to expect from this event. I thought I was just going to see J. Cole and Wale perform, but I was in for a great surprise. There was so much to do before the concert started and everything was free.
They had a great variety of food from sausage and peppers, dim sum (stuffed dumplings), reubens (sandwiches), hot dogs, pretzels and all of the Heineken you can drink (I don’t drink beer so I drank water). They also had various games like ping pong and two Nintendo Wii stations. They were also customizing t-shirts. You had the option of four colors and four designs. You also got the chance to be on the cover of “RollingStone Magazine” with an impromptu photo shoot with various props. Here are photos from the event
J. Cole has such great stage presence. He had no hype man and did an amazing job!
Wale was cool. He did A LOT of call and response and even performed in the crowd, but after a while I was a little bored. He had too much going on..it was too hard to focus.
Rick Ross was the surprise guest and he killed it! When DJ D-Nice introduced him everybody went crazy. Of course he came out to B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast) and I swear everybody in that building was Big Meech or Larry Hoover.
This event was put on by Team Epiphany which is a branding and marketing company. This was a great event.

This past Sunday, I attended Hot97’s Summer Jam concert. I swore back in 2006 I would never go to Summer Jam, but this year’s line up was crazy. There were performances by Juelz Santana, Gucci Mane and Wacka Flocka, Fabolous, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Usher, Trey Songz, Ludacris, and a host of special guests (Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Vado, Lloyd Banks, Baby, T-Pain and more.)
I actually missed the first hour and a half because of traffic. A 40 minute trip actually took me about 3 1/2hrs and don’t get me started about my 4hr ride home.
All in all I had a great time at the concert. I was disappointed in some of the performers, Nicki Minaj being one of them. She was really boring. I am not a fan and I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she has ZERO stage presence, Drake was pretty dry also smh. Trey Songz, Luda, Usher, and DJ Khaled (before he brought the hood out on stage *literally*) all did an excellent job. Here are a few pics:
This was at the end of the night….the wind got a hold on my pony tail..smh. I wore a pair of black culotte shorts (they are so comfy) and this black and white vintage print top with some black wedged sandals.
Performances
I was expecting a lot more from these two. Nicki Minaj’s shoe game is crazy!!! But I think that is what limits her performances because she can’t move in the shoes! She has to do better…
Trey delivered a great show…as usual. Some lucky fan actually got to go on stage with him! He sang all of his hits from Ready and gave an R rated sex demonstration…smh. Only Trey
I must say that DJ Khaled had one of the best song performances of the night. “All I Do Is Win” had the stadium rocking. all 55,000 hands went up and they stayed there (literally). Then he brought out the entire hood. There had to be at leat 100 goons on stage smh. Ludacris also had a great performance. He performed many of his hits and of course Nicki Minaj come out and they did “My Chick Bad.”
I was extremely excited to see Usher because I had never seen him in concert. I was upset at this little 35 minute teaser! I wanted more! He is truly talented! He is definitely one of the greatest performers. He performed many of my favorites like “Nice and Slow” “You Make Me Wanna” and of course my two favorite songs right now “OMG” and “There Goes My Baby.”
Despite missing the first few acts, I had a really great time.
