What to Wear: Prints for Casual Fridays

TGIF! Although the weather today is pretty this weekend it will be amazing. This will be our first taste of spring with the temperatures in the high 50s. I’m so excited! This winter has been rough and I need my warm weather.

Since today is Friday I decided to do an outfit post for casual Fridays. I don’t work in a restrictive environment so I can pretty much wear what I want, as long as it is appropriate of course 🙂 If you work in Corporate America you have more rules that you must follow. This is an outfit for those that can have a little fun at work. Printed pants can be kept casual or dressed up if you want to go out after work. Peplum is still popular and flatters any shape. Pair the look with black pumps and a great handbag in a bold color and you are ready for the weekend!

What I Wore: Snakeskin Printed Pants…Really?

Yes I wore snakeskin printed pants and I love them. When I first purchased the pants almost everyone I told or showed were not convinced that I could make these pants work. I think I did pretty good! These pants are probably the most comfortable pair of pants that I own. The material is extremely soft and I love that they have wide legs. I also love the versatility as they can be worn as high waisted pants as well. These babies will get a few more wears before it is time to pack them away until next year, but I absolutely love them! They are by Jaclyn Smith for Kmart (yes Kmart ) and a variation of these pants are currently on sale for $7.99, marked down from their $24.99 price tag (which is still inexpensive). Click here to purchase. Fall Fashion Fix: Printed Pants Under $100

Hello my loves! I hope you all are having a fabulous summer. It is not totally over yet, we still have a few weeks left of fun in the sun, but if you hit any of your local malls or retail stores, you will see huge clearance and sale signs because it is time to get rid of the summer merchandise and usher in new items for the fall. So my previous post focused on the Fall Trends that you can expect for 2012 but now it is time to get more in depth with a few of the trends.

One of my favorite trends this season is prints, but not just for blouses and dresses, pants as well. I have a few pairs of printed pants, but the material is incredibly thin for all Fall/Winter. One pair I can easily transition, because of the color, by pairing them with opaque tights, but the others, not so much.

The key to wearing printed pants is to pair them with a solid color top for a clean look. You can take your look up a notch by mixing prints. Make sure the prints have complimentary colors. That is key! For other accessories try a boyfriend blazer for more sophistication, or a denim jacket for a casual feel.
