I’m here today with another What I Wore post! I’m really excited about this post because I absolutely LOVE this dress. When I saw it I said “I’m buying it, I don’t care if they have my size or not, I’ll find a way to get in it.” I went into my “crazy woman shopper” mode. I calmly walked over to the rack of dresses and searched for my size and there it was *insert cheesy smiling face here*. I love the look of mixing prints when done correctly. I struggle mixing prints myself and so I look for pieces that took care of that job for me. I never want to look like I tried to hard when it comes to my style and so most of the time I stick to what I know, so when I saw this dressed my mixed print prayers were answered.

The print is very bold and the orange is the perfect pop of color and is paired perfectly with the hint of blue/green in the dress as well. I paired with the dress that I got from Strawberry with my cream and black ankle strap sandals from Marc Fisher and a grey Rowling handbag from Just Fab.

Hey my loves!

Ok so for this installment of Wednesday’s Wish List I’m still focused on my work wardrobe. I want to switch things up a bit with my style this year so for this look I mixed the masculine with the feminine to create this chic look.

Wednesday's Wish List pt. 2 Feminine Edge

Leather jackets (or faux) are staples in everyone’s wardrobe. It is the perfect outerwear item for the fall besides  a fall trench coat. Leather jackets can be paired with practically anything, depending on the look that you are going for. You can pair it with jeans and a t-shirt or even your most feminine dress. So I paired a faux leather jacket with fire red slim cropped pants, a white light-weight sweater with cut-out details and a pair of flat gold metallic captoe ankle boots. The pants and sweater are what’s feminine about this look. These two items can be paired with heels for a dinner date or girls night out. The boots and jacket gives this look a slight masculine edge. The sunglasses and handbag finish of the look. You won’t need much jewelry for this look because you have quite a few elements to focus on already. Remember sometimes less is more.

Yesterday I went to brunch with Melissa near Grand Army Plaza and decided to walk over to the Soldiers and Sailors Arch and Bailey Fountain since ti was so nice out to snap some pictures.

So there you have it! My “Animal Instincts” look

Happy Tuesday  my loves! It’s been a while since I have done a What I Wore post, so I know this is long over due. It was a pretty nice day on Sunday and I was in the mood to wear a dress to church. As I was looking through my closet I noticed a dress that my brother bought for me when he was in Spain last year. I never wore the dress because I didn’t get it until December…smh…and it was just too cold.

The dress is a simple and very comfortable. It is a peach tank dress with a mint green belt. I paired it with and Olivia & Joy Handbag and my favorite pumps of the moment (Prabal Gurung for Target). I put on a lace cardigan because it can get really chilly at church.

As you can see I also switched up the hair do for the summer. I’ve been doing a lot of protective styling lately and this is just the latest installment lol. I chose box braids because they are easy to maintain. I didn’t want to keep my weave because it is just too hot. I wanted my braids to be a shorter length, but the woman who did my hair said it wouldn’t work because of my natural hair length, so I had to go long.

So here’s one final look

Stay tuned for more of What I Wore.

So I was fooled by the weather the other day. It was sunny and bright and I heard a lot of people outside so I said “It must be nice out.” Well the sun was out for about 26 seconds and then it started to rain. I was already out of the house and was not going back in to change. My shoes were not rain friendly, but I had to meet Melissa of O So Chic for our lunch date at Footprints for this rasta pasta that we have been dying for!

Because I thought it was nice I decided to wear my floral print jeans that I bought from Century 21 last August and a mint green top that I purchased from Forever 21. Take a closer look at What I Wore

These photos were snapped right before the rain storm came. We had to tie our scarves around our head and run in our heels to the car. It was funny. Oh and the highlight of the day, besides the food, was the guys playing basketball in the park BEGGING if they could be in our photos. One guy said to Melissa “Please can I take a photo with you, you can delete it later” I was in tears!
