Fashion Week is now in full force and there were some amazing shows yesterday. To start of the HGB fashion week coverage will be none other than one of our favorite Project Runway contestants, Christian Siriano.

Christian Siriano is known for using amazing eye catching prints and tons of volume; well he has not lost his aesthetic. He has the outlandish evening gowns, sleek printed shorts, and form fitting dresses that any woman would love.

The patterns on these dresses are reminiscent of the patterns t hat were used for his shoe collection with Payless last season. He loves vibrant hues of blues and pinks.

Siriano went for comfort and glam with the relaxed fit short in rich fabrics.

This is probably my favorite look. I love sleek, tailored looks. They are very simple, but yet the looks show elegance and sophistication.

Christiano also showed he is not afraid to mix prints. The first look is bold and makes a strong statement showing confidence. The jacket paired with the mini dress is perfect for the cool spring nights.

Overall Christian Siriano’s collection was beautifully executed. He continues to take the fashion world by storm. He is one budding designer that is not afraid of volume, color, or prints. Job well done.

By now most of our favorite stores are pushing all of their summer merchandise to the back or on tons of sales racks as they make way for their fall merchandise. Before you start rushing to the stores to update your fall wardrobe I would suggest you create a style book/vision board. For each season, I take inventory of what I have in my closets and drawers and make a list of what I will keep, store, throw away or giveaway. I then make a list of what I need and want to complete my fall looks.

So along with taken inventory, I develop my fall color palette. Yes I choose the colors that I want for my wardrobe. This should be done always because the “experts” may say peach is the “IT” color of the season, but peach may not be a color that looks good on me. So here is a the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Fall 2010. These colors were seen on the runways of the F/W 2010 fashion week. You will also see many of these colors in the stores you shop at, so it is best to have an idea of what color schemes and combinations you want to create for a polished fall wardrobe.

My favorite colors from this palette are:

  • Lipstick Red
  • Golden Glow
  • Chocolate Truffle

Lagoon has been voted color of 2010 so I am sure you will see plenty of tropical blue hues in your favorite stores. To see the full PANTONE Fashion Color Report for Fall 2010 click here
