2012 was an amazing year for the blog. I want to start off by thanking all of my supporters and readers. Without you guys, this blog would not be here. A lot has happened in my life this year as well, but I must say that it was a year to remember. So here is a look at some of my top moments from 2012 and I thank you all again for all of your support and wish you and your families love, peace, joy, health, and wealth in the new year!

2012 Year In Review

top2012-11

1. 6pm.com Brandbassador– this probably had to be the highlight of 2012. This was my first MAJOR blog accomplishment. in 2011 I was a finalist for best Fashion and Beauty blog, but in 2012 my voice in the fashion blogosphere was recognized and I was selected out of 150 bloggers to be the first to represent the 6pm.com Brand!

2. FAB-ulously Chic event– One of my goals for the year was to host an event with my friend MUA/Beauty Blogger Kim Porter and July 24th at Shic by Soketah it became a reality. It took A LOT of work to pull off, but FAB-ulously Chic was a huge success. We collaborated with amazing sponsors like Juicy Magazine, Jamberry Nails, Zico Coconut Water and Fly Credentials Brand, Elleina D. Accessories to bring our readers awesome gift bags as well as amazing giveaways. We are already thinking of ideas for FAB-ulously Chic pt. 2 so stay tuned!

3. BlogHer Conference-this was my first official blogging conference and I had no clue what to expect. I have to thank Kitty Bradshaw and the ladies of O So Chic for making this a great experience. I was a BlogHer Newbie and was actually quite nervous on what to expect. I was able to meet and collaborate with some amazing brands and bloggers because of this experience. I stepped out of my “little shy shell” and marketed myself and my brand. I still have a lot of work to do, but one of my goals was to network this year and this conference allowed that to happen! I was also able to meet Badgley & Mishka which was just AWESOME!

4. NYFW (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter) I was able to cover NYFW for two more seasons and it was again an amazing experience. Because of the various events I was introduced to amazing new designers and bloggers as well. I am looking forward to what February has in store for NYFW Fall/Winter 2013.

5. Various Events (Marshall’s/TJ Maxx OCC Preview, The Makeup Show, QVC Beauty Event, Effen Vodka, RedLight PR, Physicians Formula  etc.) As a blogger I get invited to quite a few events out of the year and some I am able to attend others I am not. Some events are amazing, and others, well I could have saved the cute outfit for another day. But above are just a FEW of the highlights of the events I was able to attend this year. If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, you would have up to date coverage and access to the various events I attend.

You can expect more from HerGoodyBag in 2013! Stay tuned!

First glance you see the accents. Leather, buttons, elbows. Stand outs have to be the coats from Pea to Military inspired. Matter of fact the whole scene was cadet based. Civilians don’t fret, motorcycle jackets came in lush bonded leathers and shearlings. Suiting seemed a little different. Quilted leather sleeves and braided trim which created divisions across the waist. Accessories pop as well with quilted leather gloves and functional bags. At ease and take a look.

Today is the first day of Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2012. Many fashionistas, celebrities, editors, photographers, bloggers, stylists, designers and a host of others will be hitting the streets of New York. From attending shows at Lincoln Center or locations off-site, to visiting some of the hottest press lounges, mixers, and after parties, this week will definitely be one to remember.

I am looking forward to all of the awesome parties and fabulous street style, and all of the runway shows, but here are 5 designers that I am looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us for the Fall.

1.Tracy Reese– her Spring/Summer 2012 collection included fun prints and bright colors

2. Rachel Roy I love how she transforms masculine silhouettes in a feminine way

3. Kort Momolu She has been one of my favorite designers since Project Runway. I love her fearless use of bold colors

4. L.A.M.B. Gwen Stefani is one of the few singers turned designers who’s clothing has real style. Her line can be edgy, sophisticated, and a little romantic. I can’t wait to see what she brings.

5. Michael Kors Do I really need to say why when it comes to MK? He’s legendary and his designs are timeless.

I had to narrow my choices down to five but here is my list of honorable mentions

Carolina Herrera, Joy Cioci, Victoria Beckham, Lela Rose, and Alexander Wang

Fashion Week is in full swing and the celebs are out and about. While at the tents I ran in to a few celebs also. My favorite being Mariska Hargitay (Olivia from Law & Order SVU). I totally went in to groupie mode when I saw her lol. I’ve never been that excited before.

Carmelo Anthony, Russel Simmons, Angela Simmons

June Ambrose, Solange, Aisha Tyler, Emil Wilbekin

Solange looks amazing!

Selita Ebanks, Angela Bassett, Tika Sumpter

I love June’s suit! The color looks great on her.

I wasn’t going to post this picture of Nicki but I did anyway. There is a fine line between avant garde and just straight tacky.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys

There isn’t much that I need to say about G-Star Raw, except give me that quilted jacket now! Known for their unique take on denim, the show brought a variety of looks to the fashion world. Pairing baggy jeans with pumps and structured blazers is a look that will never get old. This look accentuates the woman’s figure, but also leaves something to the imagination. It also shows that you can be just as fierce in baggy jeans, skinny jeans are not necessary here.

The sleeveless wool coat was one of my favorite looks. This is a perfect piece for layering. put on your favorite turtle neck and cardigan and you are ready to hit the streets.

The color scheme used was very refreshing, everything wasn’t black or grey, the use of blue and red were the perfect accent colors for what seems like a very dreary season.

I recently just began embracing the shorts in the fall/winter look and I am totally in! I love the wool shorts, leather jacket, and turtleneck. This is a perfect night look or even date look.
