So for today’s look I had to bring out one of my favorite things to wear; boyfriend jeans. Sadly, this is my only pair so I don’t wear them as often as I would like. I purchased these about two years ago from New York and Company and every pair that I have tried on since then has failed in comparison. Although they fit me a little more snug than they did last year or the year before that, I still love them! Yes I know I am extremely excited over a pair of jeans. This is how I used to be with my Joe’s Jeans back in the day. Those jeans were made for my body. I had about 7 pairs, then I gained weight and it was bye bye to Joe’s.

Anyway, I paired my New York and Company boyfriend jeans with my “Love, Peace, Faith, Hope, Jesus” tank from Forever 21 and a pair of black and cream tribal sandals from Bamboo via TJ Maxx.

I really went down the slide after. It was so much fun lol

I saw a bug…I was focused lol

This is what the world needs!

Do you guys love boyfriend jeans as much as I do?

Two in a row?!? I am on a roll! Lol. Today’s outfit post features one of my favorite combinations with a slight twist. I love the classic look of denim shorts and a white t-shirt with a killer shoe. Well instead of pairing my favorite Levi’s denim shorts with a plain white t-shirt, I paired my shirt with my Grandmother’s Lace top from Sugar Lips Apparel and my More Of It platform shoes from Luichiny. Oh and no it is not actually my “Grandmother’s Lace” top, that’s the cute name to describe the even cuter chic, vintage shirt. The shirt is semi-sheer and has a high-low hem, which is awesome! It takes the look up a notch and gives it a more glamorous feel as opposed to a casual feel with a basic white t-shirt.

Believe it or not, I did iron this shirt before I put it on lol

Isn’t the detail amazing?

I will definitely be rocking this shirt in the fall as well. Yes it is sheer and very thin, but I would pair it with one of my boyfriend blazers or oversized cardigans, a pair of skinny jeans or leggings and some booties and I will be ready to go.

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great Easter weekend. I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends so this weekend was just magnificent. I started off by attending church on Good Friday after some shopping with my mom and niece. Saturday, more shopping this time with my sister and then Sunday church, breakfast, and dinner with the fam. So for my look for this Easter I wanted something bright and fun and of course with prints. So this is the look I put together

I love this skirt! It has to be one of the most comfortable things that I have ever worn. It flows really nicely and feels so soft against my skin. If they had other colors I would have definitely purchased them. The color is perfect for spring/summer as well. You will definitely see this outfit again lol and more of this skirt for the next two seasons.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending launch of “The Art of Bob Mackie,” a debut of a series of fashion and costume illustrations by the legendary designer Bob Mackie.

The first series of reproductions consist of 46 illustrations, which are availabine in two sizes 14 x 17 ($69 and 21 x25 $179) and are sold  matted and framed.

Bob Mackie is known for creating elaborate and glamorous designs for “The Carol Burnett Show,” “The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour,” Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Tina Turner, Pink, Madonna, Diana Ross, Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand, and a host of others, including Barbie.

His impeccable creations have earned him nine Emmy Awards and he is the only costume designer to be inducted in to the Television Academy Hall of Fame.

We can now have Bob Mackie a part of our every day lives in the form of art. So get ready to add a touch of high fashion and glamour to your homes, studios, and offices.

Here are a few of my favorite prints from the collection with a description

Clowns “Goofy character clowns have always been one of my continuously favorite subjects of a long design career.”

  • Left ColumnDown: Homer Hookstratton, William Tell’s Daughter “Tilly Tell,” Stanley Starstruck
  • Right Column Down: Mistress Grandolini, Admiral Crookshank, Mortimer the First Mate

Pink Showgirls“These Showgirl costume sketches were inspired by Florenz Ziegfeld’s famous Follies: “Glorifying the American Girl” Pink Showgirl No.2 (There are 3 in this series)

Cocktail Hour (Top) “The actual gowns in these two fashion drawings are from my 2001 “Foreign Intrigue” Couture Collection”

Belle of the Ball (Bottom) “This elegant lady in her elaborate ball gown comes in two different color versions”

Puttin on the Ritz “The depression era’s fascination with elegant “Rich Folks” having a high time inspired these illustrations.”

Urban Safari “This trio of Safari inspired goddesses were designed as background atmosphere for less than visually exciting musicians.”

Once we viewed the entire collection, we were able to choose a print and I chose Urban Safari. I have been looking for artwork to decorate my bedroom with, and this print is PERFECT.

There were other great pictures Ya Gotta Have a Gimmick, Carmen and Her Troupe, Kitty Kat Klub, and Drawing Comedy.

What I love most about Bob Mackie’s work is his incredible attention to detail. His style of design is pure art. Most new age designers have great sketches that transform into art on the runways or on a human canvas. Bob Mackie does that and more. There aren’t many designers out there with this type of pure talent. He is definitley in a class of his own.
