I was just blown away with Caroline Herrera’s Spring 2012 collection. I have always been a fan of Carolina Herrera’s work and this season she just blew me away.

I love how her pieces are effortlessly chic. The silhouettes of her pieces are always classic and sophisticated. What really gets everyone excited is the use of color, patterns, and texture. I love the pattern used for both of these dresses. I love that the fact that Carolina Herrea veared away from the traditional v-neck and went with something more modern.

Geometric prints ruled Herrera’s runway. She created ey-catching pieces in strong prints using delicate materials like chiffon. The last dress is very ambitious, especially for this designer, but the mixture of prints and materials created a very unique look.

Again great execution mixing prints. These looks are very bold and daring, especially for today’s modern woman.

The geometric prints and classic lady-like silhouettes  are what had me at hello. The fact that Mrs. Herrera can create bold looks using soft materials and colors truly amazes me.

This collection has me anticipating spring and Fall hasn’t even officially started. I do know that most of these looks will be added to my mood boards that will keep me focused until spring arrives again.

Fashion Week is in full swing and the celebs are out and about. While at the tents I ran in to a few celebs also. My favorite being Mariska Hargitay (Olivia from Law & Order SVU). I totally went in to groupie mode when I saw her lol. I’ve never been that excited before.

Carmelo Anthony, Russel Simmons, Angela Simmons

June Ambrose, Solange, Aisha Tyler, Emil Wilbekin

Solange looks amazing!

Selita Ebanks, Angela Bassett, Tika Sumpter

I love June’s suit! The color looks great on her.

I wasn’t going to post this picture of Nicki but I did anyway. There is a fine line between avant garde and just straight tacky.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys

Joy Cioci’s Spring 2012 collection was inspired by one of her travelling friends. In an interview with The Fashion Informer, Cioci revealed that she created a collection for “free-spirited women travelling in search of adventure and love.”

The collection gives a great variety of pieces for the modern woman. The most prevalent  styles include ruffled gowns, sheer/ruffled blouses, crochet detailing, and romantic dresses, in  very vibrant colors like chartreuse and red oranges, bold prints, and also subtle colors like pale blues and creams.

The mixed textures creates a very unique and distinct look. Who would have thought that combining crocheted lace, silk, ruflles, and chiffon would create such masterpieces. Joy Cioci did an excellent job ccreating soft and feminine looks with unconventional techniques.

These three looks would have to be my favorite out of the entire collection. I love bright and bold colors and the red-orange is exactly what I need. I love how all three dresses give the models an effortlessly chic look. These dresses are very versatile as well. They can be transitioned from day to night easily with the change of accessories.

What is your favorite look from Joy Cioci’s Spring 2012 Collection?

Luca Luca’s Spring 2012 collection can simply be described as by Creative Director Raul Melgoza “sensuality.” The spring 2012 collection offers a variety of colors such as royal blue, magenta, lemon grass,  seafoam blue and the always classic black and white in relaxed silhouettes that still compliment a woman’s body.

Luca Luca offered separates as well as dresses and jumpsuits

Deep v-necks, cut out detailing and also mixed prints were stars of the show. The cut-out detailing showed just enough skin that would leave a woman feeling sexy, but also comfortable.

Along with the relaxed silhouettes Raul Melgoza also experimented with draping, which was done remarkably well. Many of the looks were accessorized with turbans and knotted scarves and peep toe ankle strap pumps.

Turbans have been on the fashion scene for quite a few seasons now and they will still update any look for the Spring.

If turbans aren’t your thing, then create this soft look of subtle waves

As with any season, always add a great lip color to give your a look a pop, but keep the rest of your look very natural
