Thirsty Thursday: Mango Daiquiri

3 oz (1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons) amber rum

1 1/2 cups (1-inch) cubes of firm-ripe mango (from two 1-lb mangoes), frozen

3 tablespoons fresh lime juice

1 oz (2 tablespoons) triple sec

4 teaspoons superfine granulated sugar

2 cups ice cubes

Method-Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Reader Request: How to wear orange shoes

Look of the Day: Fancy Floral

I wore this outfit yesterday to an event in the city. The top is a floral print shirt length dress from Forever 21, H&M Jeans and Nine West Shoes. I love the colors in the top and paired with the pink platforms gives this look just the right amount of color for summer. Some people go over board with pairing brights, but the blue and tan in the top, tones down the yellow and coral and by adding the pink shoes it allowed the entire outfit to pop.

I also finally did something different with my hair! I put my hair in bantu knots (straight hair twisted into little knots) and it came out like this. I had different size knots which is why my waves were varying lengths, but this was just the experiment. Practice makes perfect right?

Method
Shake all ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry and serve.

Thirsty Thursday: Coco Loso

For those of you that don’t know, the Coco Loso is a drink that Diddy and the Supreme Team (or is it the Dream Team) came up with. It is Ciroc Coconut on the rocks. Some people like to mix it with pineapple juice. Supposedly after you drink the Coco Loso you start acting like a nut! Smh at Diddy and Fabolous and their dance lol. They are too funny. Watch the first 30 secs of this video to see them acting crazy.

New York City Chic

Style + Class = New York City Chic. I love this look! The vintage inspired scarf adds the right amount of color to this set. This is great for work and can easily be worn when running errands, just by swapping the heels for flats. Scarves are great accessories that change the dynamics of any look. I wouldn’t recommend wearing a scarf now…it is just too hot, but when the temperature starts to drop, add a nice little cardigan, some tights and you are ready for the fall.

Thirsty Thursday: Raspberry Spritzer

Raspberry Spritzer

Ingredients

4 oz. Club Soda
1 oz Stoli Razz or other berry flavored vodka
2/3 cup frozen raspberries
2 sprigs fresh mint
1 oz Raspberry flavored syrup or chambrod
Ice cubes

Method
Pour club soda and raspberry stoli in a shaker and shake well. Combine club soda/vodka mix, raspberries, mint and raspberry-flavored syrup (or Chambord) in a small pitcher. Pour over ice
