Here is a recap of some of our favorite looks from the Oscars. This is the biggest red carpet event during award season and so we expect nothing but the best!

Pictures150

Viola Davis, Kerry Washington, and Jada Pinkett Smith were among our favorites during the red carpet. I love the 1920s style waves that Viola is rocking and the color of her dress. Kerry Washington is not letting the bun in the oven stop her fashion game. She is glowing in this gown! Jada Pinkett Smith surprised me with this look. It is sleek and sexy. The color has me anticipating spring more and more.

oscars10I don’t think Charlize Theron ever misses a fashion beat. She brings it every time!

Pictures152I was on the fence about Julia Roberts’ look, but I actually like the texture and lace. I love Karen O’s deep neckline with the jewel encrusted pendant. The dress flatters her figure well and you can never go wrong with black.

Pictures151I think Sandra Bullock is so underrated. She is always classy. Kate Hudson looks amazing as well and both of these ladies are setting trends for the spring with side swept curls. I thought I liked Angelina Jolie’s dress, but now that I’m looking at it again, I’m not that crazy about it…oh well.

Last but not least, I have to revisit Lupita Nyong’o’s look 🙂

Who rocked your favorite look for the Oscars?

Jennifer Hudson and Angela Simmons

Jennifer Hudson and Angela Simmons

I love Jennifer Hudson’s 3/4 sleeve midi bodycon dress. She paired the dress with a wine lip and peep-toe booties. This is definitely a look I would wear for dinner and dancing or a date night with the boo.

Angela Simmons is always fly. Even though the look is simple because it is a pair of leggings and some fierce heels, I love the pop of color with the bag and the draped jacket. The smokey eye completes this look. I would wear this out with the boo or for a fierce ladies night look.

Rachel Roy and Kerry Washington

Here we have the battle of the prints with Rachel Roy and Kerry Washington.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE prints and I love how Rachel Roy mixed prints with denim and ankle strap pumps. I suck at mixing prints but this is effortless. I would wear this to brunch with the girls.

Kerry Washington is always on point. This look is classic, modern, sophisticated, and chic. I mean she can do no wrong! I would wear this to work with a blazer because of the to make it more appropriate.

Kerry Washington rarely does anything wrong in my fashion book. She is just simply amazing! Although I didn’t watch the Teen-Choice Awards Red Carpet yesterday, I did see a few recaps on the internet and Ms. Washington or Mrs. Asmougha (remember she got married!) looked super cute in this Stella McCartney Resort 2014 dress.

I love this look also. It's all about the details!

Would you rock this Stella McCartney dress?

When I think of white shoes, I think of the Mary Janes my mother used to make me wear when going to church on Easter or just on a nice spring day. I think of the little girls with the frilly lace socks and bows in their hair. Whenever I would see a grown woman with white shoes I would stare in amazement. I don’t know why but they just look awkward to me. I t may be the tile of shoe that I particularly see, but this was just something I could never get on board with.

Well for the spring season it appears that these are the new must haves. Now just because tons of celebs rock white shoes it doesn’t mean that you have to run out and buy a pair. Just because it is of the moment doesn’t mean that it is for you. Here are a few pics of some celebs rocking this trend.

I think I am too traumatized to even go near a white shoe but some celebs have been changing the minds of many, check them out.

Friday February 1, 2013 The 44th Annual NAACP Image Awards brought together some of the most talented and stylish actors of Hollywood in the same room. It is great to continuously see positive portrayals of African-Americans in the media. This was truly a celebration. Take a look at some of our favorite looks of the evening.

All of the ladies look amazing! It is hard for me to choose a favorite look, but I am going to have to go with Kerry Washington in Oscar de la Renta. The gown has great texture and the soft pink and mint green is a classic color combination. She looks stunning!
