I wore this outfit yesterday to an event in the city. The top is a floral print shirt length dress from Forever 21, H&M Jeans and Nine West Shoes. I love the colors in the top and paired with the pink platforms gives this look just the right amount of color for summer. Some people go over board with pairing brights, but the blue and tan in the top, tones down the yellow and coral and by adding the pink shoes it allowed the entire outfit to pop.

I also finally did something different with my hair! I put my hair in bantu knots (straight hair twisted into little knots) and it came out like this. I had different size knots which is why my waves were varying lengths, but this was just the experiment. Practice makes perfect right?

I went shopping with my sister last Friday. She wanted help recreating her look, but of course on a budget. I helped her select a few pieces that were transitional (day and evening) and I also picked up a few things for myself. Here is what I bought:

  • Floral Print dress- Forever 21
  • Cobalt blue bodycon skirt- Forever21
  • Neon print sundress- H&M

We found this cute little accessories shop also. I believe it was called “Live, Love, Laugh” I’m not sure (sorry) but they had a great selection of rings ranging from $2 to about $10. I purchased the following

  • Turquoise circle ring
  • Turquoise multi shape ring
  • Snake ring
  • Amethyst, amber, ruby, and emerald geometric shaped ring (my favorite)

This past weekend was the prom, which was held at Chelsea Piers Sunset Terrace and of course, I was a chaperone. The class of 2010 are my babies. We have been through a lot these past four years and I must say on Saturday, I felt like a proud mama. They have grown in to beautiful young women and handsome young men.

As a young teacher, choosing what to wear can be very difficult at times. I do not want to look too young (although I can’t help it) but I don’t want to look 10x my actual age either. Here is what I wore

Here is a picture of one of my favs Krystyna. I told her I would post the picture and she was excited. She reminds me so much of myself in high school it is scary. She has been my TA since her freshman year and she is like a daughter to me. She won Miss 2010 (nowadays they have a million categories not just prom king and queen- prince, princess, duke, dutchess, etc.) and I am very proud. This pic was taken at the end of the night, after all of the dancing and when the kids were getting ready for the after prom parties. She changed out of her red and white prom dress and put on this cobalt blue dress. The color looks absolutely amazing on her. My friend Kim did her makeup also.
