Yesterday Kanye West debuted his second collection on the Parisian runways. His first collection named dW (click here for HGB ccoverage) received mixed reviews from people all over the fashion industry. Many people felt his collection lacked cohesion and the pieces weren’t appropriate for the season. Well let’s take a look at how Mr. West did the second time around.

This time around Kanye actually has a collection! The pieces are definitely wearable and let’s just look at those boots!

Kanye went for a feminine grunge look. The silhouettes are very firgure flattering and gives a great feminine touch, especially since the collection is dominated by all black and leather.

This collection shows that Kanye had his ear to the streets. He heard the criticism and made the necessary improvements to create something better the second time aound. That is what you call a great student. Many people receive constructive criticism but never make adjustments. Yes you do have the final say on anything that you produce, but if you are in an industry where you are servicing people you need to listen, and that is exactly what Kanye did.

Katya Leonovich’s Fall 2012 collection shows that she definitely loves New York. The greatest city in the world was the inspiration behind her line. The presentation showcased New York inspired prints on many of the pieces. It was an amalgamation of colors, prints and textures. She featured everything from copper pants, black and python leather, and even white fur. The entire collection, including the backdrop design had many elements of New York’s personality. There was a mixture of hard edge with the intricate details, leather and python, but there was also a soft romance about the collection with the ruffled chiffon dresses. Needless to say, Leonovich’s collection is bold and daring. Take a look

The 14-piece collection entitled “Monaco” debuted by Project Runway Finalist Korto Momolu (Cut-toe Mo-mo-lu) expands on the designer’s vision of “femininity, elegance, and futurism.” She was inspired by fashion icons like Grace Kelly and Bridget Bardot. “Monaco” features stylish jumpsuits, chic sweaters, elegant evening gowns and luxurious day dresses. Korto enlisted the help of top stylists and jewelry designers to bring this collection to life. Take a look at “Monaco” by Korto Momolu

Farah Angsana definitely knows how to put on a show. Her collection was inspired by women like herself who love to travel the world. Her collection shows that “she is a woman of high glamour and culture and appreciates the fine detailing in luxury.” If I could describe the collection in one word it would be luxurious. The collection consisted of breath taking gown and cocktail dresses that would definitely make you the center of attention. She chose simple colors like ivory and black for some pieces but the show stoppers would have to be the tangerines, emerald greens, scarlet reds, violets and shades of blue. When you put some color in to the mix you are bound to have an incredible collection. The fabrics and details were just as luxurious as the rich colors. She incorporated crystal and sequin emebellishments, lace detailing, ruching, silk chiffon, silk wool, wool crepe and more. Her silhouettes were simple but the true craftsmanship can be seen in the detail. Take a look at the collection.

This dress was definitely the show stopper. Everyone gasped as the model proceeded to walk down the runway. The dress is so dramatic yet classy. Farah Angsana did an amazing job with this collection.

The next few collections were definitely a few of my favorite. Rag & Bone, Diesel Black Gold, and Y-3 show how you can maintain your femininity and be tough at the same time. All of their collections were stemmed on a technique that many have yet to maste: layering. The art of layering can be quite difficult, but once you learn the tricks of the trade you will be able to dress accordingly and be ready for all types of weather. Check out the collections
