Wednesday night, I attended the Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2011 Preview hosted by Mintbox. Mintbox was hosting a giveaway and they gave away 100 tickets to this event. Unfortunately I didn’t enter, but my friend Kim did and she won. She was unable to attend the event so she asked if I would like to go instead. So thanks Kim for the ticket! Now on to the event.

The event was sponsored by Cake Pops, Theater Bar-mixologists, and Arrojo Studio. You were able to mingle with fashion bloggers like Keiko Lynnand Rebecca Minkoff herself. Arrojo Studios were on hand giving you tips on how to switch up your hair and doing tutorials as well. Theater Bar’s Mixologist served us three delicious drinks, watermelon, strawberry, and grape. Last but not list Cake Pops provided us with, well Cake Pops, think of a slice of cake on a stick.

Mintbox and Rebecca Minkoff were hosting a giveaway as well. They gave away 5 amazing bags. You had to twitpic the bags you thought were part of the giveaway. So if you follow me on Twitterand saw 30 twitpics, I was trying to win. Unfortunately I didn’t win but my blogging buddies Monroe of Fashion Steeleand Preity of Fashion Solace did so congrats to them!

We all chatted for about 2hrs, had drinks, at cake, and marveled over the Fall 2011 collection of bags.

Here are a few photos of the handbag and apparel collection taken on my Blackberry (forgot my camera in the car)

I love the black bag with the bow and stud detailing. The black and toffee briefcase style clutch is very unique and perfect for fall. One of my favorites would have to be the zebra print tote. I love animal print.

I love this briefcase. It is perfect for me to carry all of my papers in when work starts. I love the red quilted bag also with the zebra detailing. This bag also comes in black.

The motorcycle leather is a staple for the fall.

The leopard skirt was TDF.

“High heel platform bootie. This style features lace up styling with stud detailing at the platform.”

I saw these beauties while browsing the web. I wouldn’t wear these now of course because it is too hot, but I would definitely rock them in the fall. This is perfect time to start buying items for your fall wardrobe. Remember to always stay a season ahead. I like the black but the taupe pair are thebomb.com!

The Lilly High Heel Bootie is definitely a great alternative to the Jeffrey Campbell Lita

These shoes are all the rage amongst the fashion style bloggers. They are too thick and clunky for my personal taste, but I would rock the Lillie’s because they are more sleek.

The Witchery Lilly High Heel Booties retail for $200 but are currently on sale for $100.

Old Navy recently held a viewing of their Fall 2011 collection and even though Spring has arrived and we have yet to go through summer I am anticipating Fall. This is because of the great pieces that Old Navy will be offering in the Fall.

The collection is filled with separates that when layered the right way will have you looking amazing. Layering seemed to be the theme. Over sized cardigans were paired with stripe sweaters and skinny jeans. Maxi skirts were paired with t-shirts and vests. Oversized blouses were paired with skinny jeans and leopard print skinny belts.

The main colors that stuck out in this collection were the corals, cognacs, rosy pinks, greys, navy blues and olive greens. These colors are great for Spring and Fall and a great way to transition into the colder months. There was also a plethora of floral print which is usually major during the spring, but Old Navy took this trend to the fall.

As for accessories, Old Navy offers an amazing selection of cross body bags in various prints, colorful totes, leopard print shoulder bags, Fall Floppy hats, skinny belts, wide belts, and printed and solid scarves. One of the accessories that I thought brought many of the looks to life were printed scarves.

This collection still allows spring and summer looks to work in the fall. There were many styles of shorts paired with crew neck sweat shirts, tights, and oversized cardigans.

Old Navy’s Fall 2011 Collection has something for everyone. You can take the basic pieces and make them your own, giving them a new life.
