On Saturday I started celebrating my birthday early! October 2nd is the big day, but I couldn’t wait to celebrate. I started the celebration with brunch with a few of my friends at one of my favorite brunch spots. Sunday morning  my good friend from high school and her bf took me to breakfast, and Sunday night I had dinner with my siblings and 2 friends before we all headed over to the Barclays Center for Jay-Z’s concert. Guess what, the celebration doesn’t stop there! I’ll have updates throughout the week with my birthday festivities.

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my “All Black Everything” outfit. I was going for a trendy look so I wore leather shorts, lace top with black tank underneath, patterned tights, and wedge sneakers. Everything was super trendy, but I guess I gave off Sex Kitten instead lol. Those were not my intentions. I got SOOOO many stares. I didn’t think the outfit was as scandalous as people made it seem lol. It was definitely weird, maybe it was the red lip, who knows, but I still had a great time none the less. Outfit details in the caption.

Lace Top: Charlotte Russe, Camisole: Forever 21, Leather Shorts and Tights Target, Wedge Sneakers: Rouge

For brunch, I was reluctant to concede to the fall temperatures so I wore a shirt dress without tights and my burgundy wingtip heels. I should have put on tights, it was definitely a little chilly, but next time I wear this dress it will be with tights.

The amazing food!

As the week draws to an end I am day-dreaming about my weekend and what I’m going to do.  *le sigh*

One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is go out with friends for brunch!  Brunch in NYC is a big thing and most restaurants have some type of brunch special during the weekend (these specials usually include unlimited cocktails —- brings on the mimosas, champagne and bellinis!!!).

Brunch in NYC (especially when going to one of the “hot spots”) is kind of like a fashion show — everyone is dressed to impressed and everyone is checking out the next person to see what their wearing.

So, what does one wear to brunch???  It really all depends on your mood – some of us use our weekends to wear relaxed and comfortable clothing and some of us stay stylin’ from Friday night to Sunday night!! 🙂

If you are opting for something more comfortable and relaxed try wearing a maxi dress with flats and if you are trying to make a fashion statement break out the crop top and heels!

Below are a few “Brunch Idea” looks I’ve put together – hope you guys like them!

What’s your “go-to” outfit for weekend brunch??

So if you follow me on Twitter you would have seen a few of my Instagram updates from my test photoshoot this weekend. I had a lot of fun and look forward to more shoots. Usually Rob and I would go to brunch on Sundays, we haven’t in a while but we did manage to have a LATE brunch with unlimited mimosas. We got to El Pollito Mexicano around 3:30 and brunch was over at 4 so we just made the cut off point. Anyway check out what I wore.

What I Wore

I love the black and white shot and my hair is growing back so beautifully! I am super excited.

  • Watch New York and Company
  • Wedges random boutique in Brooklyn
  • Necklace Jewelry District near Herald Square

I love this shot! I was really stopping traffic…only for 2 seconds though. I have been practicing poses so hopefully you will see less of the arm action lol.

Saturday was an amazing day! The weather was awesome, it felt like spring for the first half of the day. I went to brunch with a friend at Cafe Shane in Brooklyn. The food was amazing as always, but the service was HORRIBLE!!! We were talking so much we didn’t realize that it took almost 45 minutes for our food to come. The waiter said other waiters were “stealing” his orders. We ended up getting 10% of our bill deducted, two free mimosas, and pankcakes. That was about $25 if you include tax so that was about half of the bill, so that was a plus for the mix up. Any way, I managed to get a picture of my outfit.

What I wore

  • Cardigan- H&M
  • Royal blue sweater dress- H&M
  • Grey leopard print tights- Target
  • Black Riding Boots (my old faithfuls lol)- Steve Madden

I don’t know why I was holding on the gate like that lol oh and I did wear a jacket, but I took it off for the pic. I’m not that crazy…it is STILL winter. Only 13 more days til spring though 🙂
