Hey my loves!

Next week Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, and I have some amazing fashion and beauty deals for you all this year. This is the beginning of the holiday shopping season. While some people shop all year round for the holidays, majority of the people, including myself, wait until after Thanksgiving to really get things going.

Here are a few tips before you head out to your favorite shops for your favorite deals.

  1. Make a list! You have to be prepared. This is not the time to go and browse the stores casually. You need to have a plan. You will no exactly what stores to go to and what items you will purchase from the stores. So grab those newspaper circulars or print them out to create your list. You can also prioritize and figure out which stores you will attend first  and what items you will try to grab as well.
  2.  Shop with a friend. Usually I like to shop alone but shopping with a friend during this time is a necessity. You guys can split up and divide and conquer! Ok that may be a little extreme, but you can each pick up the items you need in half of the time. Also you can wait on line in shifts.
  3. Wear comfortable clothing. I would suggest something that you can maneuver in easily, so layers are perfect. Comfortable jeans and knit leggings are essentials. I would go with leggings and some flat riding boots with zippers that will be easy to take off if I need to. Also wear a cross body bag to avoid holding your purse in your hand or on your arm. Lastly oversized cardigans, scarves and anorak jackets are great too. You can tie the jacket around your waist if you get a little warm and the cardigan is great for an additional layer of warmth.
  4. Be assertive, yet friendly. You want to be pleasant to the workers because this is an extremely stressful time and you want them to be as helpful as possible. You have to be assertive when it comes to the other customers. Do not get in to a fight, but if there is a deal that is a must have go for it!
  5. Set reasonable expectations for yourself. You may have 15 items on your list that you want to purchase, but you not be able to get those items, so be realistic on what you can actually accomplish, and also remember, what you do not get on Black Friday there is always Cyber Monday.
So, whether you are shopping on line, or standing in line at your favorite store to get the best deals we have something for you so check it out!

When was the last time you updated your lingerie drawer? If you are taking a long time to answer that question then this post is definitely for you. Our lingerie should be updated often, at least once every 3 months. I know that there are many of you out there that buy lingerie as often as you buy handbags and shoes, so this may not be for you. Many women have a misconception of lingerie. Some believe that lingerie just consists of sexy nighties and all things see-through and lace. That is not the case! All of the following falls in the category of lingerie or intimates: panties, bras, body shapers, camisoles, chemises, night gowns, bodysuits, robes, and a host of other items click here for a list. So why should you update your lingerie drawer? here are five reasons why!

1. To feel good– putting on new lingerie is an amazing feeling! I don’t know about you all but when I put on a new panty and bra set I feel like a new woman. I walk with a different type of confidence honestly because I feel amazing.

2. To feel confident– once I feel good this wave of confidence comes over me. It’s something about knowing that your breast are supported and sitting pretty lol. Also you should feel confident in your bedroom. Sometimes it’s ok to just throw on a t-shirt and hit the bed, but putting on a silk chemise can dramatically change how you sleep. Trust me.

3. To look good– when wearing lingerie you look better, especially if what you are wearing fits your body type. If you wear things that are too small you will look larger than you really are and you will be uncomfortable. You must first look good for yourself before looking good for someone else.

4. Look good for your mate– for those that have a significant other or just a cuddle buddy you want to look good for your mate. They enjoy seeing the sexy side of you, so give them something special to look at. Also don’t wait for a special trip or Valentine’s Day. Spice things up often to keep the fire burning in your relationship.

5. Foundation of a perfect look– if you wear the wrong type of undergarments then your clothes will not fit properly. So you must have a variety of items for the different types of garments in your wardrobe.

So hopefully I have motivated you all to update your lingerie drawer if you haven’t done so recently. Below are some options to get you started!

Hey guys!

The chilly weather is definitely upon us and it is time to pull out the heavier jackets. The temperatures are in the mid to high 50s and even low 60s in some places so now is time to add a heavier layer to your daily wardrobe. When it comes to great casual jackets a bomber is a top pick. Whether you get one that is casual or dressy, leather, or nylon, bombers are classic jackets that would be a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe. Go for a modern update with mixed textures like nylon and fur, or leather and suede. The colors and patterns are endless. Below are some great options check them out.

Peplum’s have been a huge trend this year and we’ve talked about it on the blog as well as shown some outfit ideas featuring peplum’s but today I wanted to talk about Curvy Girls and “The Peplum”.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that peplum’s are NOT for the curvier lady – basically their reasoning was because the peplum expands outwards this would accentuate the curves (hips, booty and even the stomach) and cause a curvier lady to look bigger.   It’s really the opposite.  Thanks to that little ruffled, extension of the peplum we are actually able to hide the stomach, accentuate our waist, balance out our bottom half (if we are blessed with a little too much hips and booty) or give us the illusion of having hips (if God skipped us on the hips and booty doses).  In my opinion the peplum actually looks best on females with a bigger bottom half.

The peplum is really a garment that looks flattering on all females. It gives us all that feminine shape and hour glass body that most women try and achieve.

The key to wearing the peplum is being perfectly tailored.  You always want to pair your peplum with something fitted.  For instance, if you wear a peplum top opt for a bodycon/fitted pencil skirt or fitted pants (I think skinny jeans/pants look best).  You really never want to pair your peplum with loose pants or an a-line skirt – the peplum already flares out so having 2 garments that are not form fitting will not be flattering.

Of course not all garments are suited for the curvier lady however this is one that is defiantly is and you should hop on board the peplum train ASAP!

Right now ASOS (of course) has my favorite peplum’s.  They have a wide range of peplum dresses, skirts, and even jackets and of course you can find shoes, pants and accessories to pair with them on the site as well.  🙂
