Resurrection Sunday is quickly approaching and being that this is the holiest day for those of the Christian faith that believe in the Resurrection of Christ, you want to go rocking your Sunday’s best. Church is NOT about what you wear, definitely come as you are, but I have a few suggestions that could help you put your best foot forward to thank Jesus for making the ultimate sacrifice.

It is hard finding “church appropriate” pieces these days. I know many of you would say, “But you just said come as you are??” Yes I did, but when it comes to church I’m hold somewhat of a conservative view about attire. If you would wear it to a club, then most likely you shouldn’t wear it to work. I hold this same sentiment for the workplace. It is hard finding the right dress for many occasions because many designers and brands are opting for very form fitting dresses, pants, and skirts. Therese nothing wrong with showing off your curves, but there is a time and a place for everything.

Ok, now back to the post…….

Crop Tops and High-Waist Skirts

With Spring here and summer right around the corner, we need just need to add a few pieces to help maximize our wardrobe and if you are lacking crop tops or high-waist skirts, you may want to check out the options below.

Many people shy away from crop tops because of their figure. I once did as well because i don’t feel like I had a “crop top friendly” belly, but with a pair of high-waist shorts or pants, or a high-waist skirts they are now appropriate for those without flat stomachs (yayyyy).

I try not to be too trendy when it comes to my style. I love classic pieces and incorporating a trend or two in my looks. Some trends last for a season or two while others turn in to classics (hello leopard print). So one of the major trends of Spring 2013 is stripes, particularly black and white stripes. I love this trend. I’ve dedicated a few posts to this trend (check them out hereย and here). So I’ve been on the hunt for a black and white vertical stripe blouse because I refuse to pay $80 for the blouse at Zara.

Anyway, this look was inspired by this trend. I paired my favorite faux leather skater skirt with a mixed stripe long-sleeve shirt I remembered I had in the back of my dresser drawer dedicated to casual tops (my organization is sick). Anywhoooo, here is the look.

The lovely Meagan Good has been out and about promoting her new show “Deception.” She has been making promo stops just about everywhere and recently visited SiriusXM to talk about her show. She rocked a CLASSIC look: white button up blouse, black skinny trousers, and statement pumps. Her style has definitely improved over the last few years. She kept it classy, but still showed off her curves. This look is appropriate for work and even after work functions. So below you will find items (all under $100) to achieve this same look.
