Fab Under $50: Transform Your Look with these Accessories
March 2, 2015 By Jai 2 Comments
Since I moved into my new apartment last August, my accessories game has taken a turn for the worst. With the exception of a few pieces that my mom bought me for my birthday, I have not updated my accessories in forever. I have lost tons of earrings and only wear a few pairs now, because that's all that I have left. I had an accessory cork board before, but the way my new bedroom is setup, there isn't enough wall space for it, and it would look awkward in any other place other than my bedroom. So I barely wear the necklaces that I do have, and when it is time to "dig in the boxes" I just get lazy and do not feel like searching. I'm not going to even talk about bracelets and rings. SMH. I'm just not inspired by what I currently have anymore, so I'm on the search of new pieces to update my look. Accessories can make or break an outfit so I like to have multiple options. I want to do a … [Read More...]

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: My Healthy Lifestyle Journey
February 19, 2015 By Jai 5 Comments
On December 30th I held a Vision Board brunch with a few of my friends, sister, and niece (yes my, then 7-year old niece, made a vision board). On my vision board I have the words and phrases like, "Health, Love Your Body, Stronger than Ever..." to keep me motivated throughout the year. Last year I had lost a tremendous amount of weight on the Daniel Plan (over 15 lbs, that's a lot for me) and I was the smallest that I had been in years. In no way am I saying I was overweight or obese...far from it, but I wasn't healthy. So as I was motivated to keep this new lifestyle, but it was definitely hard to maintain. Eating healthy is so expensive. I mean a package of quinoa can be over $8. That's a lot compared to a bag of white rice. I joined the gym with my mom and sister and was going consistently for about three months. I participated in the crazy physical challenge Tough Mudder in … [Read More...]

What to Wear: #OOTD to Beat the Winter Blues
February 17, 2015 By Jai 2 Comments
This weather has been a drag. I know, I know, it is winter and this is the "normal" weather for winter.... I don't think I've experienced such frigid temperatures and consistent snow. I'm so over it. I hate dressing for the cold temperatures. People always say, "You can tell who has true style based on how they dress in the fall and winter." I think that's a bunch of bologna. When it's cold I honestly just want to throw on a sweater, some leggings or jeans, and my UGGs. That's it. Comfort and warmth are key. This weather does not have me motivated to get dressed at all. I try to spice it up a little for date nights with the boo, and occasionally for work but that's about it. I'm not going to count the days until spring. Every season has it's purpose, so I'm going to try to make the best of winter. This look I created below would definitely be a nice pick me up. Beat … [Read More...]

Motivation Monday: Time to Grow Up and Life Updates!
September 8, 2014 By Jai Leave a Comment
Hey my loves! I know the last time I wrote a post I said that I was back to blogging because I finished school, and guess what that wasn't the case. I know I said I was in the process of moving and I would still blog, but I didn't. I am a woman of my word, so don't hold my lack of consistency against me, but A LOT has changed since I last wrote that post. So here it goes... Life Updates I got a new job. Well this isn't just a job, I am advancing in my career as an educator. This year would have been my 9th year as a teacher, but God had a different plan. I am now an AP (Assistant Principal)! How awesome is that! I moved. New place, new life, new responsibilities. This is the first season in about three years that I missed fashion week and.....I'm not bothered by missing it. I will be 30 in less than a month and so it is time to grow up. I have a new career that … [Read More...]
