Hair Chronicles: Inspiration Solange Knowles

So I have been through many hair changes since 2010. I've had bangs, highlights, asymmetrical cuts, inverted bobs, high pony tails, doobie wraps, senagalese twists, just to name a few lol. I'm now in the process of looking for a new hairstyle for the spring/summer. I will be making my appointment soon to cut my hair even. I have the craziest asymmetrical style right now lol. Since my hair has been growing back since October it is now at a length where I can even it out and not look crazy. So for the latter half of spring and the entire summer I need a look. I am thinking about getting a curly weave like the look Solange is rocking but weaves in the summer are tough since it is HOT. I am so confused but this is a look that I am definitely considering. What hair styles do you guys rock for the spring/summer? … [Read More...]

Style Files: Keri Hilson

Let's be honest when it comes to Keri Hilson, it is always a hit or miss with her. Although there was a point where she was very consistent with her fashion looks and choices, lately she has fallen off of the fashion radar. It wasn't until recently with the promotion of "Think Like A Man" that we are now really getting to see Miss Keri Baby. For most people, they do not think Keri Hilson's style is "authentic." They feel she does not have a style of her own and mimics the style of other celebs like Rihanna, Ciara and Beyonce. While Keri is in a very unique situation it is very hard and almost nearly impossible not to notice the influence of other artist on her style. So with this weeks Style Files Keri Hilson gave us three very different looks. Here is my break down I call this look "Corporate Chic" Keri pairs some black trousers with a fuschia satin blouse. The color looks great on her … [Read More...]

What I Wore: Easter Sunday

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great Easter weekend. I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends so this weekend was just magnificent. I started off by attending church on Good Friday after some shopping with my mom and niece. Saturday, more shopping this time with my sister and then Sunday church, breakfast, and dinner with the fam. So for my look for this Easter I wanted something bright and fun and of course with prints. So this is the look I put together  I love this skirt! It has to be one of the most comfortable things that I have ever worn. It flows really nicely and feels so soft against my skin. If they had other colors I would have definitely purchased them. The color is perfect for spring/summer as well. You will definitely see this outfit again lol and more of this skirt for the next two seasons.   What I Wore Top: I went to a fashion show last year … [Read More...]

What to Wear: Easter Sunday

Easter is this Sunday and many of you will most likely be attending a church service. Easter is the one day out of the year, besides Christmas and Mother's Day, where people attend some type of religious service and I must say everyone is always decked out. To some people, Easter is when you officially usher in the spring season. For this particular Sunday service you will see everything from floral print dresses, color blocking, pastels, nudes and more. So here are a few outfit ideas for Easter Sunday Look #1 Pastel Color Blocking Easter Sunday by janiquehgb featuring shiny shoes Most people think you can only color block with bright, bold colors. That is not the case. You can color block with pastels as well. For this look I chose a seafoam lace dress and a pair of yellow heels. The colors are definitely traditional Easter colors so they compliment each other well. I paired … [Read More...]
