What To Wear: Blue Kimono Sleeve Shift Dess

This dress is a perfect transitional dress for the fall. It can be worn on cool summer nights as well as in the day. What I Wore: Puerto Rico Edition

I am back from my vacation and I must say I had a wonderful time. My friends and I try to take at least one vacation together at least once per year and this year trip is definitely in the Top 3. We had so much fun! Anyway here is a recap of a few of the outfits that I wore. I honestly wasn’t in the mood to take tons of pictures because I just wanted to be laid out on the beach getting a tan, but here are photos of what I did capture

This is day 1 of the trip and this was my traveling outfit: Black Romper, Leopard Crop Top, Flat Sandals

Day 2: Yellow maxi skirt with slit, royal blue racerback tank, sandals, bold jewelry

I got the skirt for $7. It was all lonely on the rack and I just had to get it.

Party time: Black and white striped body con skirt, royal blue tube top, black peep-toe sling back heels

Day 3: Khaki Shorts, Rust crop top, gold sandals, peacock necklace

We couldn’t go to Puerto Rico without visiting the El Yunque Rain Forest. It was such an awesome experience! This waterfall was so beautfiul. I was in awe the entire time. A few of my friends climbed the rocks and got really close for great pictures. I didn’t have on my sneakers yet so I didn’t climb the rocks, but it was still a great view.

Party Time: Orange t-shirt body con dress, red patent leather belt and shoes, red earrings

Every year we go away we try to have theme nights. So this night was “Caliente.” You had to wear something red, orange, or yellow. A few of my friends didn’t get that memo and wore blue but they still looked amazing.

All White Night: White baby doll dress, jeweled sandals, bold jewelry

Our last night on vacation we always wear all white. It is an amazing sight to see 6 beautiful black women all tanned and bronzed glowing in all white. Since this was our last night we always try to go out with a bang and we most certainly did! We went to Senor Frogs and if you’ve ever been there, you know what happens there. I wanted to wear something light and flowy so that I won’t be restricted when dancing and so I can catch a cool breeze.

When we got out of the car everyone in the area were staring at us like we were celebrities. We started waving and asking people how they were doing. I guess I would stare too if I saw a group of friends dressed in all white walking the streets lol. We told the hostess and waiter in Senor Frogs that we were all getting married and this was our last trip before we each tied the knot and then they gave us free drinks. Overall it was an amazing experience and I love my girls to death!

What to Wear: When Traveling-Airport Style

So if you are reading this, I am probably on a plane or just getting off of a plane in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This is the annual “Girls Trip” that my friends and I have been taking since our senior year of college. I always look forward to this time of the year because we all are professionals and some of us live in different states, and this is the one time that we set aside to just catch up and hang out.

Since I will be traveling, I decided to do a “What to Wear” post.

When traveling, comfort should be key. So avoid the following

Extremely tight clothing
Extremely high heels, just in case you’re late and you have to run to catch your flight
Extremely revealing clothing- you don’t want to continuously pull up your blouse because it is too low cut and all of the TSA agents are looking at you

When traveling please do not look like you rolled out of bed

Pajamas-that’s just tacky
Extremely and oversized large sweat shirts (even if it is your favorite)
Slippers

Here are a few suggestions of what to wear for a more polished look

Comfortable shoes- sometimes the lines can be extremely long so wear something that you can stand in for a long period of time
Shoes that are easy to slip on and off- In the summer, I always wear a cute sandal that does not need to be tied, fastened or buckled. Ballet flats are great also
Pashmina or cardigan- airports and planes are extremely cold, well to me at least, so instead of wearing that oversized t-shirt or sweat shirt carry a cardigan, blazer, and/or pashmina to keep you chic and warm
Sunnies are a must. They add a sense of mystery to the entire look. If you have an early flight like me, they also hide those tired eyes.
Don’t forget the carry on. Grab a chic weekender bag and you are ready to go
I try not to wear jeans because I hate taking my belt off and putting it back on. So I always wear dresses or pants that do not require a belt. I have these great linen pants with a cloth belt attached that are airport friendly

Take a look at a few celebs traveling in style

The key is to always look polished! Hey based on what you are wearing you may get a seat in first class…you never know 🙂

What to Wear: Witchery Lilly High Heel Bootie

I saw these beauties while browsing the web. I wouldn’t wear these now of course because it is too hot, but I would definitely rock them in the fall. These shoes are all the rage amongst the fashion style bloggers. They are too thick and clunky for my personal taste, but I would rock the Lillie’s because they are more sleek.

FAB Under $50 featuring Midi Skirts and Oversized Cocktail Rings
