This winter has been recording breaking for the amount of snow fall that we’ve experienced in New York City in years. Last time I checked we were at about 55 inches of snow. The total inches of snow that we’ve had last year was at 25 inches and we are not done yet. I’m so over the snow. I have not been wearing anything really nice and exciting because the snow, slush, ice, and salt won’t allow me to be great. This weather is so depressing, but it won’t last for long. Without winter we can’t appreciate spring and the four ladies above have me anticipating one of my favorite seasons.

Regina Hall

Regina Hall

Regina Hall looks radiant in this cream lace dress with scalloped edges paired with strappy platform sandals. Lace is a staple for spring and cream is a great color.

Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles

During New York Fashion Week, Solange killed the street style and slayed the front row. For spring you can try a color block trench coat similar to Solanges wool coat. Let’s not forget about the white pump and light pink suit. Borrow this look from the boys and put a feminine touch on it with a dainty color.

Kat Graham

Kat Graham

I’m loving Kat Graham’s all white look. The white fitted dress with white pumps, and white overcoat is so clean. I love the texture on the dress as well.

Lianne La Havas

Lianne La Havas

This might be my favorite look!. I’m working on my legs now so they can look this amazing in shorts come spring and summer. I love the soft pink and white combination with the loose fitting paper bag shorts and satiny soft pink blouse. This is a great look for a spring brunch with the girls. The white open-toe ankle strap platforms add a perfect touch to this look. It feminine, romantic, and modern.

Which look is your favorite? Let us know in the comments section and in the poll!

This has been a very eventful Awards Season thus far. I was secretly wishing that Lupita Nyong’o would show up and SLAY like she usually does, but this is music…maybe she’ll release an album next year…who knows lol.

Here is a recap of some of the best and wellllll other looks from a few of our favorite celebrities.

Beyonce and Jay-z

Beyonce and Jay-z

Although they did not get to walk the red carpet because they were opening the show, The Carters looked might dapper this evening. Beyonce rocked a sheer lace white dress that was sexy, but not too revealing. Jay was on his suit and (bow)tie steeze this evening.

Ciara

Ciara

Check out the glow on this hot momma! Ciara looked radiant in her gold and bronze dress.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry

Taylor Swift never disappoints (except when she goes EXTRA hard dancing in the audience -__-). Her look was simple and youthful. Katy Perry rocked  a whit sheer music note inspired gown in true Katy Perry Fashion.

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, and John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, and John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen

On to the couples!. I love Chrissy’s dress. Amber Rose usually slays, but maybe a more vibrant color would have nailed this look. Both gentleman look great. Wiz knows how to rock the red carpet, as does John Legend.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton and Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton and Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

I feel like Miranda and Robin Thicke should be dates, Blake should have walked the red carpet alone, and while I want to love Paula Patton’s dress, I just don’t 🙁

Rita Ora and Rocsi Diaz

Rita Ora and Rocsi Diaz

These two played it safe. Rita usually goes all out (the MTV awards she KILLED!) Rocsi usually has a little bit more flare. While I don’t hate these looks, I don’t love them either.

Tamar Braxton, Alicia Keys, Pink

Tamar Braxton, Alicia Keys, Pink

This is probably the best that I have seen Tamar look in a long time. Usually she goes over the top with the makeup and/or outfit. She kept it classy and simple with this red gown and natural makeup. Alicia Keys never really does it for me, but this color is gorgeous. The over exposed chest area is giving me a little body builder. Women with smaller busts should not over expose the chest area. Pink has an amazing voice and gave an amazing performance, but the pattern on the dress was not needed. If it was a simple satin gown I think she would have nailed this look.

Ariana Grande and Ashanti

Ariana Grande and Ashanti

Could you believe that Ariana Grande is only 20 years old!?!?!?!? Who put her in this dress. The dress ages her and hairstyle takes off a few years so I’m just confused. I understand why she wears her hair in the same style (due to extreme damage she has limited options and just wants her hair to get healthy again), but either the hair or the dress needs to be spruced up. I didn’t even recognize Ashanti. Love the shoes, makeup and hair (yessss for the blonde) but the dress has A LOT going on and it does nothing for her shape. I really want to love her style, but I need some consistency. One day she slays and others…..

Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams , and Mack Wilds

Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams , and Mack Wilds

And for the guys…..they all have a very unique style. I’m loving Miguel’s look the most. After seeing that picture of Kendrick Lamar and Max from Living Single on Instagram I can’t look at him the same anymore lol.

Who do you think deserves best dressed at the 56th Grammy Awards?

Another one of our fashion favorites, Tika Sumpter, is her making rounds on a promotional tour for her new movie with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, Ride Along. The Haves and The Have Nots star was recently spotted in New York City and you would have thought it was a nice spring day with her outfit. Don’t let Tika fool you, it is freezing in New York, but the spring colors and cool temps do not take away from how amazing she looks.

Pictures133

She rocked a blue, white, and yellow cropped sweater, with a yellow striped skirt, and nude pumps. The entire looks is from N/TICE Spring 2014 collection This will be going in my spring inspiration lookbook. I love the color combination! This is such a fun and flirty, yet sporty look.

Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren Caped Dress for the 2014 Golden Globes

I’ve featured Lupita Nyong’o on the blog before a few months ago during the promotion of 12 Years a Slave, and we fell in love with her sense of fashion all over again during this awards season. I mean can you say SLAYED. Her looks have been pretty much flawless. She is definitely the new “It” girl since our beloved Kerry Washington.

I love that Lupita takes risks with her makeup, hairstyles, and fashion choices while keeping it CLASSY. She is a great representation of the chocolate sisters. Her skin is pretty much  flawless *cues Beyonce* and I cannot get enough of her color choices. Everything has complimented her so well. She is definitely one of my favorites this awards season. I will be keeping a close eye on her for the rest of the season. I cannot wait to see what she pulls off for the Academy Awards. Now if only we can get these magazines to embrace her for who she is and not lighten her skin SMH @ Vanity Fair.

I love how versatile her hair is. Shout out to the pick and flat top!

Which look is your favorite?

I’m going with the red Ralph Lauren dress at the Golden Globes.

“12 Years A Slave” star Lupita Nyong’o has been SLAYING the fashion game. She wears bold colors that compliments her flawless skin. Here are a few of my favorite looks from Lupita Nyong’o that she has been rocking while promoting the movie.

Pictures122Her makeup is flawless as well. She chooses great colors that pop against her skin.

Pictures123Her style is simple, yet modern and sophisticated. I would totally raid her closet!
