Cole Haan is my shoe of choice from casual to work wear as well as many of my colleagues. Since 1988 Cole Haan has been a vital piece to the global domination that which Nike has attained. A relatively unknown acquisition from its initial purchase, Cole Haan was approached by Nike in 2000 to blend their traditional craftsmanship with the athletic apparel-maker’s innovative Air technology (the shoes have Nike Air in them).

A compelling combination of the minds, the two well known shoemakers have remained to a degree separate in terms of designing, until this month. Initially previewed on many sites as Hypebeast in December, the LunarGrand fuses the modern Lunarlon sole technology with the classical design sensibilities of the traditional wingtip.

VP of Design at Cole Haan, Phil Russo sat down with Sneaker Freaker & described the birth of this idea as such:

“The idea came from our perpetual obsession to make our products better. If you understand what people are doing in their shoes today as well as their expectations in terms of functionality, style and movement, you can design with purpose and create solutions that provide real benefits.
Through design innovation such as the use of Lunarlon foam and its function-enhancing properties in the outsole of the LunarGrand, the boundaries of how classic dress shoes look, perform and function in modern environments are being redefined.”

Available in five color ways, the Cole Haan LunarGrand can be purchased at Cole Haan SoHo for $248 USD on Friday February 10, 2012. Functionality meets style!

Will the Cole Haan x Nike LunarGrand Wingtip go down in history as a small piece of sneaker trivia, or a successful mixture of dress shoe and running aesthetics?

On Monday we gave you the Sexy, Sophisticated, and Spicy Valentine’s Day outfit ideas, well today we give you the three Cs- Casual, Classy, and Cool outfit ideas.

Casual- maybe you and the boo are doing the fancy dinner thing, well here is a great outfit that is casual yet appropriate for the occasion

Casual Valentine's Day Look

Classy- I would call this look a mix between conservative and sexy. You still maintain a sophisticated look, but you also turned up the heat by showing a little leg.

Classy Valentine's Day Look

Cool-let’s Valentine’s Day is in February so most likely it will be pretty chilly-unless we have another 60 degree day. So here is a look that will keep you warm but looking fly.

Cool Weather Valentine's Day Look

Stay tuned for Part 3!

This Sunday the New England Patriots and New York Giants will go head to head for the greatest title in football, Super Bowl Champions. This exciting sporting event will be watched in sports bars and homes in front of 52″ flat screens. I’m sure many of you have been invited to at least one super bowl party, even if it is at your neighbor’s house across the hall. So just in case you need a little help on finding the perfect outfit, I created three looks for you. Keep the sweat pants in the closet, they won’t be needed. Check them out…

I wanted to create looks that are fashionable and chic, but not over the top. You do not want to be in a sports bar in 5 inch heels, unless that is your everyday attire of course. The men probably won’t be paying attention to your outfit anyway, but still you should always look your best.

Stick with casual pieces like skinny jeans, cardigans, or simple pull-over sweaters. As far as the footwear is concerned, I would rock a military style combat boot, riding boot, or wedge boot. Stilettos and platforms can be left in the closet for vday.

Which look will you try to recreate?

Flirty dresses, bold prints, bright colors, and figure flattering silhouettes all describe the Spring 2012 Nicole by Nicole Miller Collection for jc penney. All though we are having an interesting winter, I can’t wait to start shopping for the spring, especially at jc penney with this new and improved pricing system. Everyday is practically a sale and who doesn’t love sales!

Check out some of my favorite looks from the collection and the entire collection from the gallery below

The first look consists of a cocktail dress, pumps, and bold jewelry. You can never go wrong wearing a cocktail dress. Most likely you have one in your house that you have never worn or you haven’t worn in years (or maybe I’m just the guilty one). Cocktail dresses are simple and easy to accessorize. You do not have to choose red, you can choose any color that you would like, as long as it compliments your skin tone.

Date Night Look

The second look is a little more sophisticated. Cocktail dresses are usually very sexy. So if you are more conservative, you can wear a pencil skirt and a nice blouse with a pair of  ankle boots. I like the raspberry and teal color combination so I decided to mix those colors.

Dinner and Dancing

The last look is a bit spicy. It features an intricately detailed black jumpsuit with spiked heels, rosette clutch and bold cocktail ring. The design of the jumpsuit is edgy yet sexy. The straight leg allows you to wear almost any type of shoe but I would go with a pump. Because the jumpsuit is all black, I decided to add blue spiked heels for some contrast.

Jumpsuits and Blue

This is just part 1. Stay tuned for part 2 coming later this week!

Regina King was named the Social Media Ambassador for the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. She posed for a quick photo in a uber cute and casual look.

She paired a pink sweater accented with gold jewelry blue jeans and brown boots. This is a great look to run errands, go to the movies, or even have brunch/lunch. Here are some options that will help you achieve this casual look.

Sweater

Jeans

Boots

Jewelry

Yes our beloved Halle Berry has deviated from acting, endorsing makeup, and selling perfume to sell shoes! Halle Berry has teamed up with German retailer Deichmann Shoes to create her line 5th Avenue by Halle Berry. Now Halle Berry is very low-key when it comes to dressing when shes not hitting the Red Carpet or making some type of appearance. When she is not available for photo ops, you can bet she will be in jeans a t-shirt, maxi dress, and some flat sandals. So what do you think the 45 year-old actress’ line of shoes will look like…take a look below

Halle Berry states ” it was a dream come true” to have her own collection.

“Women have always loved shoes. It’s like if your hair is not right and your shoes are not right, the woman is not right. If both of them are right, you’re pretty much OK. And shoes are a statement. They can be very sexy; they can say something about where you are in the day; they can say what your mood is; they give you a chance to accessorize. And I’m a girl that loves to change my shoes all the time. It’s an expression of who you are really. I’m a girl if I find a shoe that I really like I like to get them in all colors. I’m big on that. I can’t think of any girl who wouldn’t want her name on a brand of shoes. I think that’s pretty cool,” she said.

The line will consist of 40-designs. What is showcased here are wedges and sandals. By the looks of things, I will not be purchasing anything from this line. It seems like it is for the more “mature” (I didn’t want to say older lol) woman or for moms who have busy lifestyles and want to stay stylish. These are only 6-designs and I am hoping that the other 34 will have something with a little bit more sass.

The line will be available in the UK early March starting at £ 29.99.

What do you think about the line?

Rapper Da Brat is the latest person to be styled by the fabulous June Ambrose. Since Da Brat has been released from jail last year, she has been in somewhat of a style rut and June came to the rescue.

I love the hair! She still has a little bit of an edge, but it is not as masculine. I can do without the quilt, but overall I think it is a good look. What do you all say?

Rock it or Drop it?

Be sure to check out June’s show on VH1 which has been pushed back until March 19, 2012

Hey lovelies!

I hope you all had an incredible weekend. Now it is back to the grind-work, school, etc. So like we do almost every Monday, here is the rundown of some of our favorite celebs and what they wore this weekend. Check out this weeks’ style files.

Christina Milian, Brandi and Selita Ebanks went flirty, bold, and sparkly on us this weekend. All three ladies gave us a little leg and great smiles. Brandy’s look is my favorite because it gives such a modern twist on one of Michael Jackson’s signature styles.

Next up we have Naomi Harris, Melanie Fiona and Lala Anthony. Actress Naomi Harris gives us a sweet and innocent take on a all black look. Usually when people rock all black it is edgy or sexy, but this look is on a different spectrum and I love it. Melanie Fiona jazzed up her black and white jumpsuit with printed bracelets and a bold lip. She shows us how to incorporate color in our everyday style without being to overbearing. Last but not least, Lala showed some legs in a red-orange shirt dress, brown laceup peep toe booties and quilted chanel bag. I love color so I’m going with Lala in this set.

Zoe Saldana’s casual look is always on point. Her style can easily be translated for all women. Mel B. has new hair! She rocked a blue jumpsuit with brown accents. Perfect way to pair neutrals. Rihanna didn’t stray from her new look. She kept it edgy with a pair of leather pants, bold leather jacket, and cat-eye shades. Mel B. gets my vote this round. Her look has a touch of glam.

Finally we get to Christina Milian (again) and Meagan Good. Both ladies were at a party for the launch of the new chicken McBites at McDonalds. With these two we get glam and grit. Meagan Good’s look is gritty Cali while Christina spices things up with her accessories and leopard print heels.

Who rocked it for you this weekend?

I wasn’t able to get you the Red Carpet footage for the Golden Globes a few weeks ago because I was out of town and I didn’t have my laptop (bad blogger) but I have you covered for the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

  • Kelly Osborne-It’s all in the simple details
  • Shaun Robinson- this is how you get noticed! The color is bold and daring.
  • Diane Lane-she didn’t take too much of a risk, but the jeweled detail is what caught my eye

  • Jayma Mays-combining sequins and lace can be detrimental but the execution on this dress was phenomenal
  • Ariel Winter- the mixed prints and textures give this dress major attitude
  • Kaley Cuoco-very whimsical, but I like it

  • Octavia Spencer- Always elegant. With dresses in this shade it’s always a hit or miss because it can look drab but she nailed it.
  • Ashlee Simpson- One of my top looks. It has such a vintage feel
  • Lea Michele- I guess she wanted to add a little flavor and show a little leg! The split is so daring, but it is tasteful

  • Amber Riley- representing for the curvy girls with this peplum and lace dress
  • Michelle Williams- I love the lace detailing on the sleeves
  • Regina King- what I love most about this dress is the color

  • Viola Davis- Yesssssss–she looks phenomenal! This dress is so elegant and her hair and makeup—perfection
  • Sofia Vegara- she’s always spicy and this dress definitely hugs the curves
  • Zoe Saldana- her style is effortless

  • Renee Bargh- the different textures give this dress a unique look
  • Nancy O’Dell- the color is amazing. Red is always a popular color
  • Rose Byrne- I love that she went against the grain and wore a jumpsuit
