Happpppy Monday guys!

Here is a brief image re-cap of the red carpet from last night’s Billboard Music Awards.  I didn’t watch the awards show but from just seeing the red carpet pictures it didn’t seem like many people showed up…WHERE WERE ALL THE CELEBRITIES AT???! :)

Anyways, everyone looked good for the most part but I wasn’t entirely thrilled by any one person or look. Overall everyone did a good job!

Jordin Sparks hands down was my favorite.  She wore 2 dresses, 1 to walk the red carpet and then another to perform the Whitney tribute and she looked absolutely stunning in both!

Let’s get into the looks:

Brandy

 Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz

Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose

Monica & Shannon Brown

Nelly Furtado

Jordin Sparks

What do you guys think?????  Any favorites?

I am not a huge sneaker head. I will take a pair of heels over sneakers any day. Well lately everyone has been raving over the Isabel Marant wedge sneakers (click here for post). I love the laid back casual look of the wedge sneaker and the fact that I can still get some height. I love the sneakers with skinny jeans, cut-off denim shorts, and even boyfriend jeans. These are perfect for an updated tomboy style.

Affordable brands like Ash, Steve Madden and Jeffrey Campbell have come up with their on versions of what many fashionistas are raving about. Check out their options below

Happy Monday!

This past weekend was simply amazing. We had great weather and lots of sunshine. I was able to break out my bright colors and floral prints. Today however, it is very dreary. It seems like we are continuously getting the April showers that never really came in April. Because the weather isn’t so great today we have to live vicariously through some of our favorite celebs.

Lil Kim was spotted rocking neon print leggings, turquoise Guiseppe Zanotti bow heels, and she also did a little color blocking.

I am loving Cassie in this Salvatore Ferragamo printed jumpsuit. The colors are bold and I love how the belt accentuates her waist. The white sandals also adds a great touch and completes the look.

Jada Pinkett Smith has been in promo mode for Madagascar 3 and has been flawless. This Atelier Versace gown is amazing. What I love most about this look is the gold hardware but the color is just amazing on her.

Last but not least Katerina Graham rounds up the crew in a floral and tiger print dress. She looked great . The red lip was also a nice touch

Who rocked your favorite look?

My vote is for Cassie. I can definitely see me pulling off this look.

Just in time for the get fresh season, and what screams fresh more than a bowtie paired with your favorite Jordans, a site has just launched by the name of SneakerxBowties.com. The brainchild of a group of individuals who couldn’t just conform to the way things were done but much rather forge their own path. I for one pride my self on not being normal and the pairing of Bowties & Sneakers (the very 2 aspects of my life – work & passion), this site becomes an instant target on my radar.

Sneakers X Bowties is a company for us; Like you we see nothing wrong with being casual. It is a matter of perception, one that we would like to change and offer some balance. We know the importance of hardwork and take our appearance very seriously. Our lives are multidimensional and our style should reflect that. Too often fashion is dictated and not interpreted.

Our story started post-school when we decided that we couldn’t fit into this rigid mold of adulthood. Trying to conform to another generation’s way of thinking was in fact a rejection of ourselves. Recent history has shown us that we no longer have to look outside of ourselves for answers, but within. Too often our culture is only used for marketing purposes but it’s contributions are not deemed worthy enough to mark the inside of a gallery…this will all soon change. We want to pay homage to our generation and its influence on not only fashion, but society as well.

Most companies pride themselves on being exclusive, we rather include you to change the view of the world two laces and a bowtie at a time.

Style is subjective but should always be comfortable, confident & set to an individual beat. As they sated above I see this as their vision. Hope to see more from this site in the future. For now they have a blog up and a boutique where their products can be purchased. In advance take a look at a couple of pieces from their Spring ’12 lookbook below.  Follow them on Twitter & check them out on Facebook.

Hey ladies!

It’s been a while since I did a post on “What I Wore.” The past few weeks the weather hasn’t been that inspiring and so my looks were basic. However, this past weekend was BEAUTIFUL! I took full advantage of the sun shine and pulled out my wedges, maxi skirts, and short dresses. I didn’t snap a picture of my look on Saturday but Sunday I did and here is my look.

I posted about this dress a while back when Lala Anthony wore it in black, grey, and yellow. I’m a sucker for color so I went for the bright blue, orange, purple, and yellow. The dress is really comfortable as well. The material is soft and felt great against my skin. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. It wasn’t tight or restricting and it even enhanced my figure.

I paired the dress with my H by Halston wedges that I got from Bakers. Everyone made it seem like I was 7’ 5” tall with these shoes. I felt regular lol. The shoes have 3 different shades of color- blue, green, and teal. It complimented the blue in the dress very well.
