I don’t know about you guys but I am loving this season’s hair for a few reasons…

  • I hate to wear my hair down in the Summer time; it’s just too hot for all  that! (I find it very gross to have hair sticking to my sweaty face and neck – don’t act like you don’t sweat!!!).
  • Convenience.  What’s quicker than throwing your hair in a ponytail or up-do and dashing out the door??!
  • When you hair is pulled back from your face it really allows your face to be on display – contoured cheek bones, cat eyes and bright lips for all to see!!

What’s great about these styles is that they aren’t your average slicked back ponytails or boring buns – they all have a new and modern twist that takes the style to a whole new level and add’s that “oomph” to your hair without very much effort or time from spent.

My personal favorite is the high bun – I can see myself wearing my hair like this EVERY DAY this Spring/Summer, especially on those humid days.

Check out this “How to” tutorial – very straight forward and easy (I plan on using it myself to achieve my high bun).

Also try adding a turban or head band to your hair to mix things up or save time when you just don’t feel like doing your hair. 🙂

I’m always looking for different hair styles, especially during the spring summer. I went back to sporting my asymmetrical cut which is now an asymmetrical bob because of the significant hair growth from my 3 ½ months of protective styling. Here are some hairstyles that I absolutely loved this week!

Solange: I posted a photo of Solange a few weeks ago with this luxurious mane of curls. I love big hair. This just looks amazing.

Monica: I wasn’t a fan of the ombre effect on hair because most people that had this look just looked messy. Ciara, Lala and a host of others are rocking this look with blonde. I love this hair style on Monica because of the auburn color. It is rich and probably not too damaging since the hair is not bleached.

Angela Bassett: Her short cut is perfect for the spring and summer. Although I am not interested in cutting my hair again I think this look suits her well.

Yaya Dacosta: I told you all I love big hair. Yaya is such a natural beauty and so this look is perfect for her. As long as the temperatures do not rise so quickly you can sport this look for a month or two. When it gets to hot I wouldn’t suggest such volume.

So I have been through many hair changes since 2010. I’ve had bangs, highlights, asymmetrical cuts, inverted bobs, high pony tails, doobie wraps, senagalese twists, just to name a few lol. I’m now in the process of looking for a new hairstyle for the spring/summer. I will be making my appointment soon to cut my hair even. I have the craziest asymmetrical style right now lol. Since my hair has been growing back since October it is now at a length where I can even it out and not look crazy. So for the latter half of spring and the entire summer I need a look. I am thinking about getting a curly weave like the look Solange is rocking but weaves in the summer are tough since it is HOT. I am so confused but this is a look that I am definitely considering.

What hair styles do you guys rock for the spring/summer?

Rihanna has changed her yet again. I liked the blonde on her, but she has gone back to basics. Rihanna is constantly changing her style. I guess she likes the spontaneity and keeping everyone on their toes when it comes to her look. There will be a lot of females dying their hair black and shaving one side, yet again. I still a few people walking around with red hair, but this just goes to show, don’t follow Rihanna because when you finally catch on to the trend, she’s on to the next.

What do you all think about her current look?
