“To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go and why you want to get there.” Kofi Annan
Choice-noun- the act or power of selection
Almost everything that occurs in a person’s life is based on choice. Certain things like ethnicity, gender, height etc. are not something that we have control over. The things that we do have control over, we need to exercise proper judgement and spiritual discernment. Our choices lead to some type of action that will lead to a reaction and possibly some type of consequence.
In church this past Sunday Pastor Bernard spoke about fate and how in Christian fate, fate is not accurate. There is no pre-determined course for a person’s life because our choices, no matter how grand or small, can change a person’s life. Pastor Bernard said something so profound “without choice or free will there can be no such thing as love. True love is a choice.”
We choose who we love and how we love. We choose if we want to strive for the best or settle for mediocrity. We choose if we will be happy or if we will be angry or sad. Yes, there are outside influences that can help determine our choice, but ultimately it is OUR DECISION. We choose to be miserable with at our jobs and with our co-workers.
Pastor Bernard also said “chocie has ther power to reorder any one’s condition. Your choices can change your future” So what are we going to choose today? Are we going to be happy or miserable? Gratefule or ungrateful? Selfish or selfless? The choice is ours. So let’s make the right decision to have the best possible outcome.
Be blessed,
