Archives for August 2011

Vanessa Simmons hosted the Give Back Hollywood fundraiser sponsored by VH1’s Save the Music Foundation.

She wore a beige crop top with a green pleated maxi skirt with black and white detailing. She kept her makeup very light with a natural face.

Are we feeling this look? Should she Rock It or Drop It?

Last night’s MTV Vide Music Awards were EPIC! Well not really, but because of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s pregnancy announcement everyone went crazy. The news of the Knowles-Carter Baby Bump literally stole the entire show. Most of the performances were underwhelming and quite a few people won awards that clearly didn’t deserve to win. I did enjoy Jay-Z and Kanye West’s performance. I am extra excited for the concert in November. I also loved Adele and Bruno Mars. Chris Brown did a wonderful job dancing, and Beyonce was just glowing and Kevin Hart was hilarious!

Now let’s get to the fashion! Check out what some of your favorite celebs rocked to this year’s VMAs

Beyonce was glowing on the black carpet in a red-orange Lanvin gown. She performed in Dolce & Gabbana. I think almost every female I know, and some males, all said the same thing “I’m going to be an auntie.” Beyonce is our sister in our minds. Congrats to her and Jay. I wish them a healthy and happy pregnancy.

Amber Rose showed us we still have a few weeks left of summer. So many people were dressed ready for fall. I love Amber and Wiz as a couple by the way.

This was an awkward moment, especially for Katy Perry. Everyone loved Kanye’s Denim Ombre shirt. According to a few people on twitter he’s also rocking the Air Yeezy 2s. I’d have to check to see if this is accurate. Katy Perry went for the Gaga factor with many of her fits. In my opinion it was too forced.

Britney looked great and definitely deserved the Michael Jackson Vanguard award.

I loved Kevin Hart’s look the best out of all three. I love the jacket and the sneakers. Ne-yo is a close second.

The ladiesof Jersey Shore. When they were presenting the award, I did  not understand any of the lingo, I had to get a translation from my sister lol.

Newlywed Kim Kardashian-Humphries in a curve hugging dress. I’ve seen Kim look better, but she did just get back from her honeymoon so she gets a pass.

Kelly Rowland in a fun, flirty, and feathery dress with peep toe spiked Christian Louboutin heels

Zoe Saldana in Balenciage heels and a little black number with one of fall’s hottest trends, plunging necklines

Adele gave an excellent performance as well. Her vocals are insane!

Lil Mama tried, she really did. I love the shoes and the dress, just not together or with the wig.

Last but not least, rapper (I used the term loosely) Kreayshawn and Nicki Minaj. Nicki is definitely reaching now with these looks. She is doing a bit much and it is just forced. This get up is not believable. I actually started liking her, but now it seems like it is all a gimmick. She’s wearing toys, like really?

Check out Bey’s performance

It’s been 10 years since Aaliyah’s untimely death and it seems like it was only yesterday. Time sure does fly. I had my Aaliyah moment a few weeks ago. I was on Youtube and I watched like 10 of her videos. She was truly amazing and there will never be another like her.

Rest In Peace Aaliyah, you are truly missed!
